The Nelson Milk Delivery Notice 1942.

PURSUANT to Regulation 4 of the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942, the Minister of Transport doth hereby give notice as follows:

  1. This notice may be cited as the Nelson Milk Delivery Notice 1942.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the seventh day after the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.

  3. The scheme set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby provided for the said district.

SCHEDULE.

THE NELSON MILK DELIVERY SCHEME, 1942.

(1) For the purposes of this scheme, unless the context otherwise requires,-

"The district" means the City of Nelson, Tahunanui Town District, and that portion of the Waimea County as indicated by zones marked on the plan;

"The plan" means the plan of the districts deposited for the purpose of the scheme in the Head Office of the Transport Department at Wellington under No. TT. 3354:

"Minister" means the Minister of Transport:

"Zone" means a zone of the district marked on the said plan.

(2) For the purpose of assisting in the administration of this scheme there shall be a committee which shall consist of the following members:-

(a) One member to be appointed by the Nelson City Council;

(b) One member to be appointed to represent the residents of the city;

(c) One member to be appointed to represent the milk-vendors;

(d) The Zoning Officer for the South Island.

(3) Any member of the committee may at any time resign his office by writing addressed to the Minister.

(4) Where the member of the committee specified in paragraph (d) of clause (2) of this scheme dies, or resigns his office, the Minister may appoint another person in his stead.

(5) On the death or resignation of any member of the committee, other than the member specified in paragraph (d) of clause (2) of this scheme, the vacancy created thereby shall be filled by appointment in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed.

(6) The functions of the committee shall be to receive and investigate complaints affecting the administration of the scheme, to advise the Minister on any matters that may be referred to the Committee by the Minister or that may be considered by it of its own motion, and to make recommendations to the Minister for amending this scheme.

(7) Subject to the foregoing provisions of this scheme the committee may regulate its procedure in such manner as it thinks fit.

(8) The names of the vendors who are parties to this scheme and the areas in which they may deliver milk are as follows:-

  1. Nelson Dairies, Ltd. .. All that portion of Nelson City, Tahunanui Town District area, and that portion of the Waimea County between Nelson City boundary and Champion Road on the one side and between Nelson City boundary and the foot of Iwa Road on the other side, and excepting those areas set out hereunder and defined as Zones 2 to 9 inclusive, with the further exception that Nelson Dairies, Ltd., make wholesale deliveries to Newport's Store, Cambria Street, Grigg's Store, corner Milton and Grove Streets, and Wilkinson's Store, Halifax Street.

  2. J. H. Sharland .. Pitt Street, Tory Street, and all Nile Street east of Tory Street.

  3. T. H. Manson .. Iwa Road, Wakapuaka Road, and Milton Street North to corner of Weka Street, and Weka Street from Nos. 46 and 47 upwards.

  4. C. Norris .. Weka Street from No. 1 to No. 45, North Road, Collingwood Street (east side) from Weka Street to Cambria Street, Cambria Street, Tasman Street between Cambria Street and Weka Street, Milton Street from Weka Street to Grove Street, Grove Street (north side) from Milton Street East.

  5. I. Norris .. Grove Street, both sides from Collingwood Street bridge to Milton Street and on the south side from Milton Street to end, Tasman Street between Halifax Street and Cambria Street, Collingwood Street (east side) between Grove and Cambria Streets, Shakespeare Walk to Halifax Street, Halifax Street from Maiti River to Tasman Street.

  6. R. N. Andrews .. Brook Street from No. 45 upwards (to south).

  7. R. P. Shing .. From abattoirs via Upper Quarantine Road to top of Bishopdale Hill.

  8. L. J. W. Gardner .. To canteen at Tahunanui Motor Camp during such periods as the camp canteen is in operation.

  9. J. H. Leach .. To Wearing's Store on College Hill.
