Timber Control Notice No. 34.

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the Supply Control Emergency Regulations 1939 and the Timber Emergency Regulations 1939, I, Alexander Robert Entrican, Timber Controller, hereby require and direct as follows:-

  1. This notice may be cited as the Timber Control Notice No. 34.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the day following publication hereof in the Gazette.

  3. (a) Except with the precedent consent of the Timber Controller no person carrying on business as a sawmiller shall sell or offer to sell, or contract or offer to contract for

the sale of, any Building A or Dressing A Matai (Podocarpus spicatus) timber being the product of Auckland, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, and Wellington Land Districts.

(b) Except with the precedent consent of the Timber Controller no person shall buy or offer to buy, or contract or offer to contract for the purchase of, any Building A or Dressing A Matai (Podocarpus spicatus) timber being the product of Auckland, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, and Wellington Land Districts from any sawmiller.

  1. This notice shall not apply in respect of the sale or purchase of matai timber to or by a boxmaker if the timber is required by him for the manufacture of export cheese-crate battens.
