Notice amending the Regulations and Scales of Charges with respect to the Waikokopu Wharf on the Waikokopu Harbour.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 239 of the Public Works Act, 1928, I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, the Minister of Public Works, do hereby amend the regulations and scales of charges published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 1 of the 9th January, 1930, relating to the use of the Waikokopu Railway Wharf on the Waikokopu Harbour, by increasing the wharfage charges in respect of the goods first mentioned in Schedule No. 5 of the said regulations and scales of charges from 2s. per ton to 3s. per ton as from the date of the gazetting hereof.

Notifying Land in Wellington Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 10th January, 1942.

PURSUANT to the provisions of subsection (2) of section 48 of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, notice is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being the land known as part of the Mataikona Settlement, was acquired by the Crown on the 2nd day of September, 1941, and became subject to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, as from that date.


SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—CASTLEPOINT COUNTY.

Block VIII, Castlepoint Survey District.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 125 acres 1 rood 28 perches, more or less, being parts of Sections 723, 724, and 796, Whareama Block, bounded towards the west by Section 6, Mataikona Settlement; towards the north by Okau Stream, by a public road, and again by Okau Stream; towards the east by the aforesaid Section 6, Mataikona Settlement; and towards the south by Whakataki 10B 6A 1, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 487, folio 189, Wellington Registry. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/244 “A,” deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Roads of less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown upon the plan of Town of Ilam Extension No. 21, affecting portion of Rural Section 12, Block X, Christchurch Survey District, Canterbury Land District, is intended to be used wholly for residential purposes, that the proposed roads shown thereon as Lot 22 should be of the width of 66 ft.:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and of every other power him thereunto enabling, the Minister of Lands doth hereby authorize the laying-off of the proposed roads of a width of not less than 50 ft.: Provided always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from the middle of such road.

Given under the hand of the Minister of Lands, this 15th day of January, 1942.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear.

AN application has been received from Vita Shoe Co., Ltd., Stanley Street, Auckland, for an extension of its existing license, so as to permit the manufacture of children’s footwear, sizes 0–6, by the cemented process.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than 5th February, 1942.

AN application has been received from Paget Shoe Co., Wellesley Street West, Auckland, for an extension of its existing footwear-manufacturing license, so as to permit the manufacture of military footwear by the stitched and screwed processes, such extension to operate for the duration of the war.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 5th February, 1942.

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be subject to Part I of the said Act and to be included in the Tokaanu Development Scheme.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of land in the Aotea Native Land Court District containing 64 acres 2 roods 5 perches, more or less, situate in Block X, Puketi Survey District, and called or known as part of the Tokaanu B 1H Block, being that portion of Tokaanu B 1H not affected by Proclamations numbered 1695 and 2798 or by the notice registered under number K. 22283.
