Notice respecting proposed Alteration of Boundaries, City of Christchurch.
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 14th January, 1942.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the County of Heathcote and included in the City of Christchurch.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE COUNTY OF HEATHCOTE AND INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF CHRISTCHURCH.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the intersection of the south-eastern side of Avonside Drive with the north-western side of Wainoni Road, being a point on the existing boundary of the City of Christchurch; thence proceeding south-westerly along the said north-western side of Wainoni Road to a point opposite the northernmost corner of Lot 1, Deposited Plan No. 8339; thence by a right line to the said northernmost corner of Lot 1, Deposited Plan No. 8339, and south-westerly along the south-eastern side of Wainoni Road, the existing city boundary, to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2, Deposited Plan No. 7837; thence to and along that boundary, the said boundary being the existing city boundary; thence northerly and north-easterly generally along the said existing city boundary to the point of commencement.

Exempting certain Patriotic Purposes from the Patriotic Purposes Emergency Regulations 1939.

PURSUANT to clause (5) of Regulation 3 of the Patriotic Purposes Emergency Regulations 1939, I, William Edward Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, do hereby exempt from the application of the said regulations—
The collection of moneys by or under the authority of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association, Incorporated, for the purposes of that Association on the days known as Poppy Day and Rose Day respectively.

Waterfront Control Commission Emergency Regulations 1940.—Waterfront Control Commission.
WHEREAS on the 9th day of April, 1940, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Waterfront Control Commission Emergency Regulations 1940, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, appointed a Waterfront Control Commission comprising—
Robert Everett Price, Esquire, of Auckland,
Hugh Andrew McLeod, Esquire, of Wellington, and
James Roberts, Esquire, of Wellington.
And whereas the said Hugh Andrew McLeod has resigned from his position as a member of the said Commission and I have accepted such resignation:
Now, therefore, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of the powers in that behalf conferred upon me by the said regulations, do hereby appoint Thomas Henry Bowling, Esquire, of Wellington, a member of the said Waterfront Control Commission, vice the said Hugh Andrew McLeod, and the said Waterfront Control Commission shall hereafter be comprised of the said

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and section 32 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1936, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Avondale and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
