A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and the leasehold estate or interest in the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, held from His Majesty the King by Harold Kitchener Mulvay, of Hikitahi, Farmer, under and by virtue of renewable lease, Volume 429, folio 195, Wellington Registry, are hereby taken for public works ; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the tenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and forty-two.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 4th day of August, 1942.

Declaring Land in Canterbury Land District to be subject to the Provisions of Section 23 of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1939.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section twenty-three of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1939, it is enacted that the Governor-General may by Proclamation declare any lands of the Crown to be subject to the provisions of that section to enable certain readjustments of leases and licenses to be carried into effect:

And whereas it is deemed expedient that the land described in the Schedule hereto should be subject to the provisions of the said section:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities so conferred upon me by subsection one of the aforesaid section twenty-three, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the date of gazetting hereof, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of section twenty-three of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1939.
