The Gisborne Milk Delivery Notice 1942.

PURSUANT to Regulation 4 of the Delivery Emergency Regulations 1942, the Minister of Transport, having been advised by the Minister of Supply and Munitions that a scheme is desirable for the purpose of eliminating any unnecessary waste of essential materials in the delivery of milk in the district described in the Schedule hereto, doth hereby give notice as follows :—

  1. This Notice may be cited as the Gisborne Milk Delivery Notice 1942.
  2. This Notice shall come into force on the seventh day after the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.
  3. The scheme set out in the Schedule hereto is hereby provided for the said district.

SCHEDULE.

THE GISBORNE MILK DELIVERY SCHEME, 1942.

(1) For the purposes of this scheme, unless the context otherwise requires,—
“The district” means the borough of Gisborne as indicated by zones marked on the plan :
“The plan” means the plan of the district deposited for the purposes of the scheme in the Head Office of the Transport Department at Wellington under No. TT. 3279 :
“Minister” means the Minister of Transport :
“Zone” means a zone of the district marked on the said plan.

(2) For the purpose of assisting in the administration of this scheme there shall be a committee which shall consist of the following members :—
(a) Two members to be appointed by the Gisborne Borough Council :
(b) One member to be appointed by the Poverty Bay Milk Producers’ and Vendors’ Association :
(c) Mr. H. M. Christie, Zoning Officer for North Island.

(3) Any member of the committee may at any time resign his office by writing addressed to the Minister.

(4) Where the member of the committee specified in paragraph (c) of clause (2) of this scheme dies, or resigns his office, the Minister may appoint another person in his stead.

(5) On the death or resignation of any member of the committee, other than the member specified in paragraph (c) of clause (2) of this scheme, the vacancy created thereby shall be filled by appointment in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed.

(6) The functions of the committee shall be to receive and investigate complaints affecting the administration of this scheme, to advise the Minister on any matters that may be referred to the committee by the Minister or that may be considered by it of its own motion, and to make recommendations to the Minister for amending this scheme.

(7) Subject to the foregoing provisions of this scheme the committee may regulate its procedure in such manner as it thinks fit.

(8) The names of the vendors who are parties to this scheme and the areas in which they may deliver milk are as follows :—

2. W. W. Hoe In Hospital Road, King Street, Nos. 519–623 Ormond Road, Hill Street, Valley Road, No. 401 to end of Stout Street (with the exception of Nos. 413, 415, 428, and 430), Willow, Poplar, Pine, Dalrymple, Walsh, Oak, and Devery Streets. Wholesale deliveries to Smith of Gladstone Road.
3. R. W. Neild In Buchanan Street, Elsthorpe Avenue, Atkinson, and Bryce Streets.
4. A. Dear Nos. 305–399 Stout Street (with the exception of No. 387), Nos. 1–11 Ballance Street, Wi Pere Street, Nos. 303–512 Ormond Road, Nos. 303–406 Clifford Street (with the exception of Nos. 360, 362, and 364), Mangapapa Road (with the exception of No. 8), Jellicoe Street, Oswald Road, Rua, Perry, and Kennedy Streets. Wholesale deliveries to Rostrevor and Chelsea Hospitals and Carnarvon and Gisborne Dairies.
