Nelson Education Board.—Election of Four Members.

IT is hereby publicly notified that the following nominations have been received for the four vacancies on the Board:—

Nelson Urban Area .. Robinson, Alfred.
East Ward .. Wilkens, John George.
North Ward .. Carling, Frank Alexander.
West Ward .. Harkness, James Hamilton.

The nominations received did not exceed the number of vacancies in any division, and I therefore declare the said Alfred Robinson, John George Wilkens, Frank Alexander Carling, and James Hamilton Harkness duly elected.

IN accordance with the Second Schedule of the Education Act, 1914, it is hereby notified that the following persons have been duly elected members of the Education Board of the District of Otago :—

North Ward .. Neil Houston Colquhoun (returned unopposed).

Central Ward .. John Ira Fraser (returned unopposed).

South Ward .. Donald Marshall (returned unopposed).

Notice to Persons affected by Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear.

AN application has been received from Mrs. A. Smiley, 159 Bay View Road, Dunedin, for a license to commence in the above industry to the extent of manufacturing clogs of all types and wooden-soled footwear.


Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 23rd July, 1942.

Taking of Fish for Sale.

AN application has been received from C. M. White, 6 Selwyn Street, Onehunga, Auckland S.E. 5, to take fish for sale by means of the fishing-vessel “Awhitu,” using set-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Onehunga.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 23rd July, 1942.

NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to the authority conferred on the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, the following decision has been made in respect of an application for a license.

Land in Canterbury Land District forfeited.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Canterbury Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

Town Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 6th July, 1942.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 27th July, 1942.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 29th July, 1942, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, weighting for improvements, and lease fee.
