The Potato Stock-returns Notice 1942.—(Notice No. Ag. 3959.)
P URSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Primary Industries Emergency Regulations 1939, I, James Gillispie Barclay, Minister of Agriculture, do hereby give notice and direct as follows:—

This Notice may be cited as the Potato Stock-returns Notice 1942.

Every person who during the 1941–42 growing season was a grower of potatoes in the South Island and who on Sunday, the 12th day of July, 1942, has in his possession or control an estimated quantity of not less than one ton of potatoes, either harvested or unharvested, is hereby required to make a return in writing to the Primary Industries Controller setting out the following particulars, namely:—
(i) Estimated quantity of table grade potatoes in tons:
(ii) Estimated quantity of seed grade potatoes in tons.
- Every person who in the ordinary course of business carried on by him in the South Island sells potatoes by way of sale by wholesale and who on Monday, the 13th day of July, 1942, has in his possession or control an estimated quantity of not less than one ton of potatoes is hereby required to make a return in writing to the Primary Industries Controller setting out the following particulars, namely:—
(i) Estimated quantity of table grade potatoes in tons—
(a) Actually held in store:
(b) On rail en route from farm or on trucks awaiting shipment or delivery.
(ii) Estimated quantity of seed grade potatoes in tons—
(a) Actually held in store:
(b) On rail en route from farm or on trucks awaiting shipment or delivery.
- Every person who on Monday, the 13th day of July, 1942, is the occupier of land in the North Island wherein has been planted but not harvested or wherein it is intended to plant prior to the 31st day of December, 1942, a total area of not less than one acre in potatoes is hereby required to make a return in writing to the Primary Industries Controller setting out the following particulars, namely:—
(i) Actual area planted in potatoes but not harvested on the 13th day of July, 1942:
(ii) Estimated area intended to be planted in potatoes prior to the 31st day of December, 1942.
- The returns required by this notice shall be delivered to the Primary Industries Controller, G.P.O. Box 3004, Wellington, not later than the 20th day of July, 1942.
