National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—
Declaration of Essential Industry (No. 84).

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby declare the operations of all licensed hotels coming within the scope of the New Zealand Licensed Hotel Employees’ award, and all private hotels coming within the scope of the New Zealand Private Hotel Employees’ award, except in respect of employees engaged wholly or substantially in the handling or dispensing of alcoholic liquors, to be an essential industry for the purposes of those regulations.

National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—
Declaration of Essential Industry (No. 85).

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby declare the operations of all tea-rooms, restaurants, refreshment-rooms, cafeterias, fish and grill rooms, quick-lunch parlours, milk-bars, coffee-bars, and hamburger-bars coming within the scope of the New Zealand Tea-rooms and Restaurant Employees’ award, except in respect of employees engaged wholly or substantially on work which does not come within the scope of the aforementioned award, to be an essential industry for the purposes of those regulations.
