Minister's Decisions under Import Control Regulations 1938.
SEVENTH LICENSING PERIOD.
Customs Department, Wellington, 18th June, 1942.
IT is hereby notified for public information that the Hon. Minister of Customs has decided that the following basis shall be adopted for the granting of licenses under the Import Control Regulations 1938 for imports into New Zealand during the Seventh Licensing Period, which shall relate to the period 1st January, 1943, to 31st December, 1943.
Except in respect of the items shown in the Schedule hereunder applications for licenses for imports during the Seventh Period will be considered on the same basis as for the Sixth Period--that is, in accordance with the Schedule of Allocations published in July, 1941, as amended by the Minister's Decisions published in the New Zealand Gazette of 22nd January, 1942.
In respect of the items shown in the Schedule hereunder allocations (if any) will be determined on the basis indicated in the final column.
Items marked "A."—Allocations for imports from United Kingdom and Crown Colonies only will be granted up to 50 per cent. of value of licenses granted for imports from those sources in 1940.
Items marked "AA."—Allocation for imports from United Kingdom and "Other British" countries will be granted up to 50 per cent. of the value of licenses granted for imports from those sources in 1940.
Items marked "B."—Allocation for imports from all sources will be granted up to 50 per cent. of the value of licenses granted for imports from those sources in 1940.
Items marked "BB."—Allocation for imports from all sources will be granted up to 100 per cent. of the value of licenses granted for imports from those sources in 1940.
Items marked "C."—Items regarded as "Control" for which applications will be considered individually.
Items marked "D."—Items for which no allocation is made.
Items marked "MS."—Imports being arranged by the Ministry of Supply. In the meantime formal applications for licenses should not be made. Persons desiring to arrange importations should furnish particulars of requirements direct to the Secretary of Supply or to agencies designated by him.
Reference in the Schedule to the years 1940, 1941, or 1942 relates to licenses issued for imports in those years; reference to 1938 relates to imports in that year.
