Land Surveyors’ Examination, March, 1942.—Australia and New Zealand.
The Survey Board of New Zealand,
Wellington, 12th January, 1942.
IT is hereby notified for general information that the Survey Board, in conjunction with the Australian Surveyors’ Boards, will conduct an examination of candidates for registration as surveyors, commencing at 10 a.m. on Monday, 2nd March, 1942, at Wellington.
Candidates are notified that their applications, on the proper form, must reach the Secretary of the Board not later than Monday, 16th February, 1942, and that the examination fee must be paid at the same time to the Secretary, from whom application forms and other particulars may be obtained.
Candidates may present themselves for examination in the following written subjects :—
After one year’s service—
(1) Physics, geology, and forestry.
(2) Plotting and plan drawing.
(3) Computations A.
After two years’ service—
(4) Computations B.
(5) Engineering surveying.
(6) Town-planning.
After three years’ service—
(7) Laws and regulations.
(8) Astronomy and geodesy.
(9) Land-surveying design.
(10) Preparation of field notes.
(15) Land classification and valuation.
During the war period candidates who have completed at least two years’ service under articles of indenture will be accepted for examination in any or all of the above-written subjects, and, with candidates presenting themselves for examination in any written subject or subjects, may present themselves for examination at any Chief Surveyor’s Office.
The oral and practical portion of the examination cannot be taken until the candidates’ term of indentureship has been completed.
Candidates for the oral and practical portion of the examination must sit in Wellington.
The fees for examination are as follows :—

Excluding Land from the Te Kaha Development Scheme.
PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 4 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby revokes, in so far as it affects the land described in the Schedule hereto, the notice dated the 13th day of January, 1932, and published in Gazette No. 6 of the 21st day of the same month at page 115, declaring the Maraenui (part) and other blocks to be subject to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1929 (now Part I of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936), and the land described in the said Schedule is now no longer included in the Te Kaha Development Scheme.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of Native land situate in Block I, Haparapara Survey District, in the Waiariki Native Land Court District, containing 2 acres 3 roods 3 perches, more or less, being part of the Native Land Court subdivision called or known as Awanui-Haparapara 2A, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in a certain order of the Native Land Court made at Opotiki on the 11th day of October, 1939, and part of the land comprised and described in Volume 124, folio 34, of the Provisional Register-book of the Land Registry Office at Gisborne, together with a right-of-way appurtenant to the said piece of land to the Public road over the balance of portion of the said Native Land Court subdivision called or known as Awanui-Haparapara 2A. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan numbered 4150, and deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Gisborne.

Fireblight Committee Elections under the Fireblight Committee Regulations 1928.—Declaration of Election of Members of the Fireblight Committee of the Wairarapa Commercial Fruit-growing District.
I, CHARLES EDWARD ROBERTS, Returning Officer for the purposes of the Fireblight Committee Elections under the Fireblight Committee Regulations 1928, do hereby declare that the following candidates have been duly nominated for the election of members of the Fireblight Committee of the Wairarapa Commercial Fruitgrowing District, nominations for which closed at Wellington at noon on the 9th day of January, 1942 :—

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Taking of Fish for Sale.
AN application has been received from A. G. Bonica, Port Ahuriri, for a variation in the conditions of his existing license so as to enable him to operate out of Napier with the fishing-vessel “Lady Aisla,” using set-nets, drag-nets, long lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Napier.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 21st January, 1942.

Notice calling up Reservists for Service with the Territorial Force.

IT is hereby notified for general information that, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by Regulation 44 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, I have this day issued to—
Patrick McClorey, Coal-miner, Ngakawau Hotel, Ngakawau, Registration No. 619119, and
John Joseph McCracken, Carpet-layer, care of His Lordship’s Hotel, Christchurch, Registration No. 615736,
notices calling them up for service with the Territorial Force, such persons having been severally convicted for that, being reservists belonging to a division of the Reserve the enrolment of which has been proclaimed, they did fail to make application in writing for enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulation 43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.

William Baden Dean, Coal-miner, 6 Swanson Street, Greymouth, Registration No. 614728,
William Alfred Pitcher, Pig-farmer, Abattoirs Road, Westport, Registration No. 616747, and
Albert Sefton, Dairy-farmer, 269 Lake Terrace Road, Burwood, Registration No. 620676, on the 15th day of January, 1942,
notices calling them up for service overseas with the Armed Forces, such persons having been severally convicted for that, being reservists belonging to a division of the Reserve the enrolment of which has been proclaimed, they did fail to make application in writing for enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulations 43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.
