The Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941, Variation No. 11.

IN pursuance of the Labour Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Labour doth hereby order as follows:—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941, Variation No. 11.

  2. This Order shall be read together with and deemed part of the Overtime and Holidays Labour Legislation Suspension Order 1941 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Order”).

  3. The principal Order shall be and is hereby varied as follows, namely:—

The provisions of the principal Order shall not apply to the shift workers coming within the scope of the agreement and awards specified in the following Schedule, namely:—

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland 8th June, 1942.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Friday, 10th July, 1942.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 15th July, 1942, at 10 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT: SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Whangarei County.—Mangakahia Survey District.—Wharekohu Block.

SECTION 40, Block XII: Area, 87 acres 0 roods 20 perches. Capital value, £110. Deposit on deferred payments, £10: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: ten years), £6 11s. 4d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 15s.

Weighted with £640 for improvements, comprising six-roomed dwelling, six-bail cow-shed, separator room, shed, boundary, road, and subdivisional fencing, gate, clearing, stumping, cultivation, and grassing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £50, the balance may be paid as follows: (1) Loading of £110 secured by covenant in lease (fifteen-year term); half-yearly instalments, £5 5s. 2d. (2) First mortgage to Crown for £180 (twenty-year term); half-yearly instalments, £19 2s. 5d.

Situated on Poroti-Titoki Main Road two miles from Titoki Post-office, School, and Saleyards, sixteen miles from Whangarei Railway-station, and eight miles from Maungatapere Dairy Factory. Access is by metalled road sixteen miles from Whangarei. Level clay gum land, 60 acres grassed now reverting, balance in scrub and rushes and containing some surface timber. Subdivided into eight paddocks; watered by Wairua River, and capable of development into an economic unit.

Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 p.m. on Monday, 13th July, 1942.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 14th July, 1942, at 10.30 a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.—SETTLEMENT LAND.

Amuri County.—Culverden Survey District.—Culverden Settlement.

SECTION 16, Block VI: Area, 2 acres 1 rood 10 perches. Capital value, £300; half-yearly rent, £7 10s. Weighted with £320 for improvements, comprising dwelling, shed, water-supply, and fencing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £70, the balance may be paid by nineteen half-yearly instalments of £15 14s. 7d., comprising principal and interest, and one final instalment of £15 15s. 5d.

This section is situated at the corner of the Main Road and St. Leonard's Street in the Culverden Township, and is close to the Railway-station, Post-office, and School. The dwelling faces the main road, and while the back portion of the section is low lying, broken by water-courses and subject to flooding, the property is an ideal worker's home.

Education Reserve in Southland Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, on Tuesday, 18th August, 1942, at 11 o'clock a.m., under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SOUTHLAND COUNTY.

Lots 1 and 2, Block X, Township of South Lumsden, being also part Section 241, Ilokoni Survey District: Area, 64 acres 1 rood 1 pole. Upset annual rental, £12. Weighted with £67 (payable in cash) for fencing, slaughterhouse, and yard.

Most of the land is in old pasture on which gorse has been permitted to spread.

Abstract of Conditions.

  1. Possession will be given on the day of sale.

  2. Six months' rent at the rate offered, broken-period rent, lease and registration fees (£2 2s.), and weighting for improvements must be deposited on the fall of the hammer.

  3. Term of lease: Twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal for further similar terms at rents on fresh valuations under the provisions of the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.
