WAIAPU ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT.

Appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments and promotions in the Royal New Zealand Navy:

Commodore Sir Atwell Henry Lake, Baronet, O.B.E., lent to the New Zealand Government, to date 1st February, 1942, and as Commodore, Second Class, for duty as First Naval Member, New Zealand Naval Board, and Chief of Naval Staff, vice Parry, to date 1st May, 1942.

Captain Eustace Rotherham, A.D.C., R.N., appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, and as Commodore, Second Class, for duty as Naval Officer in Charge, Auckland, to date 1st May, 1942.

Captain Cecil Aubrey Lawson Mansergh, D.S.C., R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy, to date 1st February, 1942, and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 16th April, 1942.

Captain Robin Edmund Jeffreys, D.S.C., R.N. (retired), lent Royal New Zealand Navy, to date 10th March, 1942, and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed (date to be reported).

Commander Morgan John Yeatman, A.D.C., R.N., granted the acting rank of Captain whilst holding present appointment, to date 1st May, 1942.

Commander David Graham Horndon Bush, D.S.C., R.N. (retired), lent Royal New Zealand Navy, to date 22nd December, 1941, and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 23rd March, 1942.

Commander Gilbert Charles Anglin Whitelocke, R.N. (retired), lent Royal New Zealand Navy, to date 26th January, 1942, and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 9th May, 1942.

Commander Richard Ralph Beauchamp, R.N. (retired), appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 14th April, 1942, for duty with the Naval Officer in Charge, Lyttelton (to serve in the rank and wear the uniform of Lieutenant-Commander and receive pay and allowances at New Zealand rates).

Acting Commander Douglas Alfred Bingley, R.N. (retired), appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 1st May, 1942, and as Captain Superintendent of H.M.N.Z. Dockyard, Devonport, Auckland, vice Rotherham, and as Naval Control Service Officer, Auckland (granted the acting rank of Captain whilst holding this appointment).

Lieutenant-Commander John Churchill Elworthy, R.N. (retired), appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 1st May, 1942, and as Director of Naval Recruiting, vice Rotherham (granted the acting rank of Commander whilst holding this appointment).

Lieutenant-Commander Wallace St. John Ainslie, O.B.E., R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy, to date 20th April, 1942, and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed (date to be reported).

Lieutenant Richard Duncan Ritchie, R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy, to date 2nd February, 1942, and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed (date to be reported).

Lieutenant (A) Albert John Verdun Clarke, R.N., lent Royal New Zealand Navy, to date 21st December, 1941, and appointed H.M.N.Z. ship as directed, to date 30th March, 1942 (amended appointment, New Zealand Gazette No. 33, 26th March, 1942).
