NOTICE is hereby given that the Public Trustee has filed in the Supreme Court an election to administer in respect of the several estates of the persons deceased whose names, residences, and occupations (so far as known) are hereunder set forth:—

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Town Land in Westland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Hokitika, 6th May, 1942.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 29th June, 1942.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, on Wednesday, 1st July, 1942, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.
NOTE.—This section is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.
SCHEDULE.
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
Westland County.—Town of Okarito.—Westland Mining District.
SECTION 3821: Area, 3 roods 22·6 perches. Capital value, £20; half-yearly rent, 10s.
Weighted with £180 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising dwelling and outhouses, clearing, and fencing.
This is a residential section situated in the Town of Okarito, eighty-three miles south of Hokitika. The area comprises the old police residence-site.

Settlement Land in Otago Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 6th May, 1942.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 8th June, 1942.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 10th June, 1942, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.
(50 acres First-class; 48 acres 2 roods 27 perches Second-class.)
Waitaki County.—Otekaike Settlement.
SECTION 51A: Area, 98 acres 2 roods 27 perches. Capital value, £580; half-yearly rent, £14 10s.
Weighted with £701 19s. for improvements, comprising four-roomed dwelling, washhouse and dairy, chaffhouse, water-supply, shelter-belt, and fencing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £51 19s., the balance may be repaid over a period of twenty years with interest at 5 per cent. by thirty-nine half-yearly instalments of £25 10s. 3d. and one instalment of £25 16s. 3d.
Situated on main Kurow—Oamaru road, two miles from Duntroon Post-office, School, and Saleyards, and one mile from Waikaura Railway-station. All flat and terrace land except 20 acres steep rocky face; soil fair to light resting on gravel and sandstone; watered by wells and windmill. About 56 acres in worn-out pasture, 22 acres cultivated, and 20 acres in natural state. Subdivided into eight paddocks.
Date of possession: 1st July, 1942.
