DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, carrying on business at Invercargill as Builders and Contractors under the style or firm of “Ayers and Bayne,” has been dissolved as from the date hereof.

All moneys owing to the late partnership are payable to Imlay and Preston, of 17 Tay Street, Invercargill, Solicitors.

ESTATE OF GEORGE CHARLES AIKEN.

In the matter of the Administration Act, 1908, and its amendments, and in the matter of the Estate of GEORGE CHARLES AIKEN, late of Wanganui, but now deceased.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand on the 19th day of February, 1942, pursuant to the powers in that behalf, conferred upon him by section 62 of the above-mentioned Act, filed a certificate in the Supreme Court at Wellington electing to administer the above estate under Part IV of the said Act, and that the said estate will as from the said date be administered, realized, and distributed in accordance with the law and practice of bankruptcy.

Notice is further given that I do hereby summon a meeting of creditors of the above estate to be held at my office on Tuesday, the 31st day of March, 1942, at 2.30 o’clock in the afternoon.

Notice is finally given that all creditors, whether they have already submitted their claims or not, are required to prove their debts within the time and within the manner provided by the Bankruptcy Act, 1908. Proof-of-debt forms may be procured at my office.

HASTINGS MODERN STEAM LAUNDRY AND BAG-WASH COMPANY, LTD.

IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that the final meeting of shareholders will be held at the office of the liquidator, R. D. Brown, Queen Street, Hastings, on the 27th day of April, 1942, at 4 p.m., for the purpose of receiving the final statement of account showing how the liquidation has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of.

RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Wanganui Jockey Club at a meeting held on the 23rd day of February, 1942, at Wanganui, with a recommendation by the Chairman of such club, Mr. Russell Grace, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. Russell Grace, the Chairman of such club, and the meeting moved, and Mr. G. C. Glenn seconded, and it was resolved that such regulations should be adopted and that the Chairman and Secretary be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

WANGANUI JOCKEY CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Wanganui Jockey Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse situated in the district of Marton, and known as the Marton Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. These regulations shall come into force on the date of the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

  3. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—

(a) Bookmakers.

(b) Bookmakers’ clerks, bookmakers’ assistants, and bookmakers’ agents.

(c) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Association.

(d) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually consort with thieves or persons who have no lawful visible means of support.

(e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of housebreaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908, and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues, and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908.

Provided always that the Executive Committee appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being satisfied by evidence as to character and otherwise that any person who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of this regulation, should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person, and may at any time revoke any such exemption without notice to such person, and without assigning any reason for such revocation.

The foregoing regulations of the Wanganui Jockey Club were made and passed by such club on the 23rd day of February, 1942, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

CHANGE OF SURNAME.

NOTICE is hereby given that I, the undersigned WILLIAM DAVID SOUTHAL, of To Awamutu, Farmer, but at present a member of the New Zealand Military Forces, heretofore known as WILLIAM DAVID ONION, have by deed-poll dated the 28th day of March, 1942, and enrolled in the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Hamilton, renounced and abandoned the use of the surname ONION and assumed and adopted in lieu thereof the surname of SOUTHAL for all purposes whatsoever.
