National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Declaration of Essential Undertakings (No. 64).
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby declare the undertakings set forth hereunder, except in respect of those persons employed as tram-conductors or as tram-car cleaners, to be essential undertakings for the purposes of those regulations :—
The tramway services of the Wellington City Corporation.
The tramway services of the Auckland Transport Board.
The tramway services of the Christchurch Tramway Board.
The tramway services of the Dunedin City Council.
The tramway services of the Wanganui City Council.
The tramway services of the Invercargill City Council.
The tramway services of the New Plymouth Borough Council.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby declare the undertakings set forth hereunder to be essential undertakings for the purposes of those regulations :—
The breaking-up of and the salvaging of material from the steamship “Port Bowen” at Wanganui.
The breaking-up of and the salvaging of material from the steamship “Mokoia” at Port Chalmers.
The dismantling of the Waipori pipe-line at South Otago.

National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.—Amendment to Declaration of Essential Industry (No. 6).
IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by Regulation 9 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of National Service doth hereby amend the Declaration of Essential Industry (No. 6) by inserting therein, after the words “all public and private hospitals”, the words “except in respect of every voluntary aid.”

The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925.—Proposed Cancellation of Registration of Industrial Union.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section 23 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, the registration of the Nelson Master Tailors Industrial Union of Employers, registered No. 774, situated at Nelson, will, unless cause to the contrary is shown, be cancelled at the expiration of six weeks from the date of this notice.

PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 4 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby revokes the notice dated the 2nd day of December, 1936, and published in Gazette No. 84 of the 10th day of December, 1936, at page 2408, whereby the provisions of Part I of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936, were applied to the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Notice requiring Returns of Stocks of certain Drugs.
PURSUANT to clause 6 (2) (a) of the Medical Supplies Emergency Regulations 1939, I, Michael Herbert Watt, Medical Supplies Controller, do hereby give notice as under :—

This Notice may be cited as the Medical Supplies Notice 1942, No. 3.

Every person who owns, or has in his possession, or controls supplies of any of the drugs named in the Schedule hereto shall declare by writing delivered to me at the Head Office in Wellington of the Department of Health within seven days after the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette the quantities (to be separately stated in respect of each of the items set out in the said Schedule) of each of the said drugs so owned or had in possession or controlled.

- Caffeine and its salts.
- Quinine and its salts.
- Menthol, natural and synthetic.
- Camphor, natural and synthetic.

Notice restricting the Sale and Use of certain Drugs.
PURSUANT to clause 6 of the Medical Supplies Emergency Regulations 1939, I, Michael Herbert Watt, Medical Supplies Controller, do hereby give notice as under :—

This Notice may be cited as the Medical Supplies Notice 1942, No. 4.

No owner or person in possession of supplies of any drugs named in the Schedule hereto shall at any time after the day following the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette use otherwise than for consumption by himself and the members of his household, or dispose of, part with the possession or control of, or otherwise deal with the said drugs except by way of wholesale sale or retail sale made in accordance with clauses 3 and 4 respectively of this Notice.

No sale by wholesale of any of the said drugs shall be made except to a registered medical practitioner, a registered chemist, a registered veterinary surgeon, or a registered pharmaceutical chemist.

None of the said drugs nor any preparation containing any of the said drugs shall be sold by retail except pursuant to a prescription signed by a registered medical practitioner or a registered dentist or a registered veterinary surgeon.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Manufacture for Sale of Footwear.
AN application has been received from Mason and Taylor, Kawakawa, for a variation in the conditions of their existing footwear-manufacturing license so as to permit the manufacture of women’s footwear and children’s footwear, sizes 7–1, by the cemented, fairstitch, and riveted methods, sales to be confined to applicants’ own shop.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 23rd April, 1942.
