Approval of Testing Officer under the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940.


IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby approve, until further notice, of the person named in the Schedule hereunder being a Testing Officer under the said regulations.

Exemption Order under the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940.


PURSUANT to the Transport Legislation Emergency Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport doth hereby order and declare that the provisions of Clause (1) of Regulation 7 of the Motor-drivers Regulations 1940, so far as they relate to drivers of heavy trade-motors, shall not apply to Christopher Campbell Kelly, of Otakeho.

Transmitting and Receiving Officer for the Service of Notices by Telegraph.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and by the regulations made on the 12th May, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st May, 1914, the following officer, at the address set against his name, is hereby appointed transmitting and receiving officer for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid:—

Declaring Places to be Prohibited Places under the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941.


PURSUANT to the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941, the Minister of Defence doth hereby declare the place specified in the Schedule hereto to be a prohibited place for the purposes of the Defence Emergency Regulations 1941.


SCHEDULE.

DEFENCE AREA AT LAKE KAITAWA, WAIKAREMOANA.

All that area in the Gisborne Land District, situated in Blocks I, III, and IV, Waisu Survey District, Block XIX, Waikaremoana Survey District, and Block XII, Waikaremoana West Survey District, and being the area comprised within a circle the radius of which is 80 chains, and the centre being the middle point of Lake Kaitawa the co-ordinates of which point being south, 100665 links on meridian and west 323875 links on perpendicular of Trigonometrical Station “A” Poverty Bay Meridional Circuit. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked Army P.P. 40, 205/3/1, deposited at Army Headquarters, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Plants declared to be Noxious Weeds in the Hawke’s Bay County.—(Notice No. Ag. 3008).

THE following special order made by the Hawke’s Bay County Council on the 8th day of December, 1941, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928:—


SPECIAL ORDER.

In pursuance of section 4 of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Hawke’s Bay County Council hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto (being plants mentioned in the Second Schedule to the said Act, as extended from time to time by the Governor-General in Council) are noxious weeds within the County of Hawke’s Bay.


SCHEDULE.

  1. Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea).
  2. St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum or H. humifusum).

NEW ZEALAND.—SOUTH ISLAND.—GODLEY HEAD.

Alterations and Temporary Discontinuance of Light.

New position: In front of fog-signal hut 120° 250 ft. from old site. Lat., 43° 35′·33 S.; long., 172° 48′·3 E. (approx.).

Abridged Description: Gp. Fl. (2) ev. 27 sec. 317 ft. 24 M.

Details: The light will be extinguished on the nights of the 6th and 7th instant and re-exhibited again on the night of the 8th instant from a new tower in the above position at an elevation of 317 ft. The new tower is 20 ft. high, with dome painted brown and base grey. The light is visible for 24 miles from 161° through west to 017°. The character will remain unchanged.

NOTE.—The old tower will be demolished shortly.

IT is hereby notified for general information that, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by Regulation 44 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, I have this day issued to—

Mervyn Domenico Manley, General Labourer, care of Field, Luckie, and Wiren, Solicitors, Brandon Street, Wellington, Registration No. 620802,

notices calling him up for service overseas with the Armed Forces, such person having been several convicted for that, being a reservist belonging to a division of the Reserve the enrolment of which has been proclaimed, did fail to make application in writing for enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulation 43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.
