OFFICERS STRUCK OFF THE STRENGTH OF THE 2ND NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.

Captain O. Jones is struck off the strength of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force, is posted to the N.Z. Temporary Staff in the rank of Captain (temp.), and is appointed Instructor, Army School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 12th December, 1941.

The Rev. J. S. Strang, Chaplain, 4th Class (Presbyterian), is struck off the strength of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force and is transferred to the Reserve List, Class I, Area 11. Dated 19th December, 1941.

Y.M.C.A. FIELD SECRETARY STRUCK OFF THE STRENGTH OF THE 2ND NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE.

Mr. A. J. C. Muriel is struck off the strength of the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 9th January, 1942.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, and transfers of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces :—

STAFF.

Major S. C. V. W. Sugden, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Staff Officer, Training, Mobilization Camp, Papakura, and is attached to the General Staff Branch, Army Headquarters, Wellington. Dated 15th December, 1941.

Major (Acting Lieutenant-Colonel) A. R. Cockerell, D.S.O., 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force, relinquishes the appointment of General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade, N.Z. Staff College, Palmerston North, and the acting rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, and is appointed General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade, Southern Military District, Christchurch. Dated 21st December, 1941.

Captain (temp. Major) E. E. Lloyd, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade, Southern Military District, Christchurch, and is appointed Staff Officer, Training, Mobilization Camp, Burnham, vice Major A. J. Moore, N.Z. Staff Corps, seconded to the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Dated 11th December, 1941.

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.

Lieutenant-Colonel R. C. Wickens, D.S.O., V.D., relinquishes the appointment of Commandant, Military Camp, Addington, and is appointed Area Commander, Area No. 10, Christchurch. Dated 17th December, 1941.

Major C. N. Newman, D.S.O., relinquishes the appointment of District Artillery Officer, Northern Military District, Auckland, is appointed Commander, Northern Fortress Area, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, while so employed. Dated 8th December, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant C. R. Thompson, Officer in Charge, Central District Base Supply Depot, Palmerston North, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 10th December, 1941.

Lieutenant J. B. Nicoll is granted the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 23rd December, 1941.

Frederick Charles Wells to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Inspector, Automotive Components and Tests (Machine Gun Carriers), Army Inspection Department. Dated 22nd December, 1941.
