CROWN LANDS NOTICE.

Settlement Land in Otago Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Dunedin, 17th February, 1942.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 9th March, 1942.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Wednesday, 11th March, 1942, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.

Waitaki County.—Marawenua Survey District.—Tokarahi Settlement.

SECTION 15, Block VIII : Area, 376 acres 3 roods 1 perch. Capital value, £1,500* ; half-yearly rent, £37 10s.

*Includes the sum of £350 7s. for the value of certain fencing, cultivation, and grassing belonging to the Crown.

Weighted with £1,010 for improvements, comprising dwelling and outbuildings, stable, garage, dairy shed and yard, hut, yards, water-supply, and part value fencing and plantation. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £310, the balance may be secured by instalment mortgage to the State Advances Corporation—term, twenty-five years ; interest, 4½ per cent. reducible to 4¼ per cent. ; half-yearly gross instalment, £23 15s. 4d. The mortgagor will require to enter into a covenant to paint the dwelling within twelve months, and to limit commercial wheat cropping to an average of not more than 30 acres annually.

The section is situated seven miles by good metalled road from Ngapara Railway-station, one mile from Tokarahi Post-office, Store, and School. The property is subdivided into seven paddocks, and is fairly well watered save in exceptionally dry seasons. At present approximately 70 acres are out of grass, the balance comprising fair to good pasture with the exception of approximately 20 acres rough faces. Good grazing property.

Milling-timber for Sale by Public Tender.

Rotorua, 18th February, 1942.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the purchase of the undermentioned milling-timber will close at the office of the State Forest Service, Rotorua, at 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, the 27th February, 1942.

SCHEDULE.

ROTORUA CONSERVANCY.—AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL the milling-timber specified in that area containing 845 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks III, V, and VIII, Patetere North-east Survey District, being part of State Forest No. 3, about twelve miles from the Tirau Railway-station.

The total estimated quantity in cubic feet is 337,200, or in board feet 2,305,000, made up as follows :—
