Officers authorized to attest Signatures of Natives to Instruments
of Alienation.

PURSUANT to section two hundred and sixty-eight of the
Native Land Act, 1931, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are
set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of
the Crown holding the offices set out after their respective
names, are authorized to attest, in accordance with the
provisions of the said section two hundred and sixty-eight, the
signatures of Natives to instruments of alienation of Native
land.

Henry Seymour King, Deputy Native Trustee, Wellington.
William Cooper, Maori Welfare Officer, Otiria.
Paihana Tawa, Clerk, Native Land Court, Auckland.
Tukere Hone Te Anga, Maori Welfare Officer, Te Kuiti.
Albert Ernest Edwards, Assistant Development Officer,
Auckland.
Arthur Molntyre, Clerk, Native Land Court, Auckland.
Ian William Bremner, Overseer, Raupunga.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 12th day of February, 1942.

Lands permanently reserved in the North Auckland, Gisborne,
and Southland Land Districts.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section
of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-
General may from time to time set apart temporarily as
reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held
under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion
are required for any of the purposes in the said section
mentioned :
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of
the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved
under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at
the expiration of one month, but not later than six months,
after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary
reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such
permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette :
And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto
were, by the Warrant dated the seventh day of November,
one thousand nine hundred and forty-one, and published
in the Gazette of the thirteenth day of that month, temporarily
reserved under the authority of the said Act for the purposes
in the Schedule of the said Warrant specified at the end of
the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be
temporarily reserved :
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by
the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the lands
described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes in the
said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions
of the lands so intended to be permanently reserved for
which purposes the said lands were so temporarily reserved
as aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
All that area containing by admeasurement, 32 perches,
more or less, situated in Blocks IV, Titirangi Survey District,
and 1, Otahuhu Survey District, being Lot 1 on D.P. 20583,
being part Lot 17, Allotment 53, Section 10, Suburbs of
Auckland, being part of the land comprised in Certificate of
Title, Volume 698, folio 33, Auckland Registry. As the
same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
L and S. 1/392n, deposited in the Head Office, Department
of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
(Recreation purposes.)
GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.
All that area containing by admeasurement 12 acres
3 roods 4 perches, more or less, being Lot 1 on D.P. 3546,
and being part of Section 99, Patutahi Rural, Block VII,
Patutahi Survey District, and being all the land contained
in Certificate of Title, Volume 91, folio 155, Gisborne Registry.
(Plantation purposes.)
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
All that area containing by admeasurement 36-09 perches,
more or less, being part Section 242, Block XXI, Hokonui
Survey District, commencing at a point on the south-western
boundary of the Waima Plains Railway Reserve in line with
the south-eastern boundary of Section 13, Town of Balfour ;
thence in a north-westerly direction along a public road on a
bearing of 300°, a distance of 300-75 links ; thence in a north-
easterly direction on a bearing of 30°, a distance of 75-0 links ;
thence in a south-easterly direction on a bearing of 120°, a
distance of 300-75 links ; thence in a south-westerly direction
on a bearing of 210°, a distance of 75-0 links, to the point of
commencement : be all the aforesaid linkages a little more
or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on a
plan marked L. and S. 6/3/476A, deposited in the Head
Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon coloured orange. (S.O. plan 64/122.) (Buildings
