Arthur Pass National Park.—Board of Control appointed.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 18th day of February, 1942.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the twenty-ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, and published in the Gazette of the first day of August of that year, certain areas in the Canterbury and Westland Land Districts were declared to be a national park under and subject to the provisions of Part III of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, and named the Arthur Pass National Park ;

And whereas by section eight of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1930, and by Orders in Council dated the third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, the eleventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, and the fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, the fourteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, and the thirteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, respectively, certain further areas were added to the said Arthur Pass National Park ;

And whereas by an Order in Council dated the twelfth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six, and published in the Gazette of the eighteenth day of that month, a Board was appointed to control the said park for a term of three years, and it is desirable that a Board should now be appointed to have the control and management for a further term ;

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by section seventy-three of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Frederick Willie Freeman,
Charles Edward Warden,
George Gerard Lockwood,
Mona Innis Tracy,
William McKay,
Tainui Thomas Robins,
Charles Ethelbert Foweraker,
George Herbert Chapman,
John Kenneth McAlpine,
Roy Twynham,
The Mayor of Christchurch, ex officio,
The District Traffic Manager, New Zealand Railways, Christchurch, ex officio,
The Conservator of Forests for the Westland Conservancy, ex officio,
The Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Canterbury Land District, ex officio, and
The Chairman of the Waimakariri River Trust, ex officio,

to be the Arthur Pass National Park Board, having the control and management of the Arthur Pass National Park hereinbefore referred to, the members of such Board to hold office for a term of three years from the date hereof.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

James Alexander Wither,
George John Sinclair Lyall,
Eric Munro,
Hector Mockford, and
Colin Campbell

to be the Berwick Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto ; and doth hereby appoint Saturday, the seventh day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-two, at eight o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the Berwick Public Hall, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

BERWICK DOMAIN.—OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
SECTION 10, Block IX, Town of Berwick : Area, 4 acres.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

to be the Darfield Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto ; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the twenty-third day of February, one thousand nine hundred and forty-two, at eight o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the Darfield Memorial Hall, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

DARFIELD DOMAIN.—CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
RESERVE 2635, Block VII, Hawkins Survey District: Area, 10 acres, more or less.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve for a Site for a Public Pound in the New Lynn Borough Council.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for a site for a public pound : And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in the New Lynn Borough Council :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the said reserve in the New Lynn Borough Council.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 10 perches, more or less, being part Allotment 363, Waikomiti Parish, Block III, Titirangi Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/606A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (North Auckland plan S.O. 32089s.)
