THE EDUCATION BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OF AUCKLAND.
NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Auckland intends to take under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of a public school the following land, namely: All that piece of land, situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing 1 rood 23·1 perches, more or less, being part of Pirongia West No. 1 Section 2F 1B 2B Block, situated in Block VII, Kawhia North Survey District. A plan of the land is deposited at the post-office at Oparau and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours. All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Auckland at its office in Wellesley Street, Auckland.

NORTH CANTERBURY SUPPLY STORES, LIMITED.
IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of NORTH CANTERBURY SUPPLY STORES, LIMITED (in Voluntary Liquidation).
NOTICE is hereby given that the following special resolution was entered in the minute-book and signed by all the shareholders of the company and dated the 4th day of February, 1942:—
“That the North Canterbury Supply Stores, Limited, be wound up voluntarily as from the 31st day of January, 1942, and that H. W. ARMITAGE, Public Accountant, be appointed liquidator.”

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
The Companies Act, 1933.
NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held in the office of the liquidator situated at Edinburgh House, Bond Street, Dunedin, at 3 p.m. on Friday, the 27th February, 1942, to receive the account of the liquidator showing how the winding up of the company has been conducted and its property disposed of, to hear any explanation that may be furnished by the liquidator, and to pass an extraordinary resolution as to the disposal of the books, accounts, and documents of the company.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above company, duly convened and held on the 6th day of February, 1942, the following resolution was passed:—
“That the company go into voluntary liquidation, and that Mr. ALGERNON INSTONE RAINBOW, Public Accountant, of Hastings, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator for the purpose of such winding up.”

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Canterbury Park Trotting Club at a meeting held on the 4th day of February, 1942, at Christchurch, with a recommendation by the Chairman of such club, Mr. A. Rose, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. A. Rose, the Chairman of such club, and the meeting moved, and Mr. P. F. Ryan seconded, and it was resolved that such regulations should be adopted and that the Chairman and Secretary be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to:—
CANTERBURY PARK TROTTING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Canterbury Park Trotting Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse situated in the district of New Brighton and known as the New Brighton Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

These regulations shall come into force on the date of the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.

In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908.

The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—
(a) Bookmakers.
(b) Bookmakers’ clerks, bookmakers’ assistants, and bookmakers’ agents.
(c) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Association.
(d) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually consort with thieves or persons who have no lawful visible means of support.
(e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of housebreaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault or any offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908, and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues, and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues, convicted under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908. Provided always that the Executive Committee appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being satisfied by evidence as to character and otherwise that any person who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of this regulation, should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person, and may at any time revoke any such exemption without notice to such person, and without assigning any reason for such revocation.
The foregoing regulations of the Canterbury Park Trotting Club were made and passed by such club on the 4th day of February, 1942, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.
