CROWN LANDS NOTICE.
GRAZING-RUN IN MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT FOR SELECTION.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Blenheim, 10th February, 1942.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pro-
perty is open for selection on Small Grazing-run lease
under Part V of the Land Act, 1924 (term of lease, twenty-one
years), and applications will be received at the District Lands
and Survey Office, Blenheim, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday,
10th March, 1942.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, on Thursday,
12th March, 1942, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant
is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land
Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants
are required to produce documentary evidence of their
financial position and farming experience.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is
required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit
comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent,
lease and mortgage fees, and deposit in reduction of weighting
for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Kaikoura County.—Puhipuhi Survey District.
Lots 1 and 2 on D.P. 1422, being parts of S.G.R. 110 : Area,
5,255 acres. Capital value, £2,670. Annual rent, £133 10s.
Capital value includes the sum of £169 for improvements
belonging to the Crown, comprising internal and boundary
fencing.
Weighted with £1,954 for improvements, comprising
four-roomed dwelling, wool-shed and yards, garage, dairy,
washhouse, cottage, two whares, water service, plantations,
drains, roading, yards and dip, fencing, cultivation and
grassing. After payment of a cash deposit of £154 the balance
of £1,800 may remain on mortgage to the State Advances
Corporation (term, thirty years). Conditional upon the
selector effecting permanent improvements to a value of
not less than £150 per annum to the satisfaction of the
Corporation, no interest will be charged on the mortgage
for the first two years.
Situated on the Clarence River Road about two miles and
a half from the Blenheim—Christchurch State Highway and
about three miles from the Clarence Bridge Post-office and
School, and three miles and a half from the new Clarence
Bridge Railway-station. Although the line is completed
to the Clarence Bridge it is not yet officially open for traffic
beyond Wharanui, which is thirty miles distant. Access
by metalled road. Approximately 200 acres of river flats ; of
this area 100 acres is rich soil in good pasture, including some
lucerne, and 100 acres light loam to shingle, stony in patches ;
watered by permanent springs and streams. Approximately
65 acres partly drained swamp of good quality; the balance
is undulating to steep hills, broken by deep gullies, rocky
faces, &c., covered in scrub and light bush. The land rises
to an altitude of 3,000 ft. above sea-level, being mostly open
tussock country lying well to the sun. Very suitable for
sheep-farming and raising fat lambs.

lodged with me together with an application for a new
certificate of title in lieu thereof, notice is hereby given of my
intention to issue such new certificate of title after fourteen
