CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in Canterbury Land District forfeited.

Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, 14th December, 1942.

NOTICE is hereby given that the leases of the undermentioned lands having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Canterbury Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915.

Land in Wellington Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 15th December, 1942.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924 ; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 4 p.m. on Monday, 25th January, 1943.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, State Fire Building, Wellington, on Wednesday, 27th January, 1943, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Kaitieke County.—Kaitieke Survey District.

SECTION 7, Block II : Area, 1,129 acres. Capital value, £285. Deposit on deferred payments, £10 : Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term : twenty years), £11 8s. 7d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £5 14s.

Weighted with £160 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising dwelling, wool-shed, cow-byre, sheep dip and pens, garage, fencing, felling, and grassing.

This property is situated about 5 chains off the Kawautahi Road, seven miles from Kaitieke, one mile from Kawautahi School, and eleven miles from Owhango Railway-station. The area is well watered by streams and is suitable as a grazing proposition. Approximately 30 acres undulating to hilly land which is ploughable, balance high, steep, broken country.

SECTION 6, Block IV : Area, 360 acres 0 roods 10 perches. Capital value, £270. Deposit on deferred payments, £20 : Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £10 7s. 9d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £5 8s.

This section is situated half a mile from Pongaroa Post-office and a quarter of a mile from the school. Land is fair quality, practically level, but is inclined to be swampy and requires draining. Suitable for residential purposes.

Ohakune Borough.—Town of Ohakune.

Section 8, Block XV : Area, 1 rood. Capital value, £10 ; half-yearly rent, 5s.

Weighted with £1 for improvements, comprising fencing, felling, grassing, and stumping.

This is a level section situated a quarter of a mile from the post-office and one mile and a half from the railway-station. The land is rather low lying and not suitable for building purposes.

Waimarino County.—Town of Ninia.

Section 33 : Area, 10 acres. Capital value, £20 ; half-yearly rent, 10s.

This section is situated half a mile from the Karioi Post-office and Railway-station, and six miles from Rangataua School. The land is flat to low lying and swampy, the greater portion being useless in winter.

Raetihi Borough.—Town of Raetihi Extension No. 1.

Section 42 : Area, 2 acres 0 roods 1 perch. Capital value, £30 ; half-yearly rent, 15s.

Weighted with £15 for improvements, comprising felling, grassing, and fencing.

This section fronts George and Ward Streets, about one mile from the Ohakune Railway-station. About half an acre is level, the balance being undulating and swampy with a stream through the middle of the section. Not suitable for residential purposes.
