IT is hereby notified for general information that, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by Regulation 44 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, I have this day issued to—

notices calling them up for service overseas with the Armed Forces, such persons having been severally convicted for that, being reservists belonging to a division of the Reserve the enrolment of which has been proclaimed, they did fail to make application in writing for enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulation 43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.

IT is hereby notified for general information that, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by Regulation 44 of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940, I have this day issued to—

James Joseph Reid, Storeman, 89 Carroll Street, Dunedin, Registration No. 459016,

a notice calling him up for service with the Territorial Force, such person having been convicted for that, being a reservist belonging to a division of the Reserve the enrolment of which has been proclaimed, did fail to make application in writing for enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulation 43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.

Notification of Vacancy of Seat in the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Bay of Plenty.

IN compliance with the provisions of section 103 of the Electoral Act, 1927, I, William Edward Barnard, Speaker of the House of Representatives of New Zealand, hereby notify that Axel Gordon Hultquist, a member of the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Bay of Plenty, died on the 1st day of November, 1941, during a recess of the House, and that the said seat in the House of Representatives for the said electoral district is vacant by reason of such death.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear.

AN application has been received from W. E. Clare, 342 Dominion Road, Mount Eden, Auckland, for an extension of his existing license covering the manufacture of men’s, children’s (0–9), maid’s (7–10), boys’ (7–10), youths’ (11–5) footwear by the machine-sewn, fairstitch, and cemented processes, so as to permit the manufacture of maids’ footwear, sizes 11–5, and the use of the rivetted or screwed process.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 4th December, 1941.

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear.

AN application has been received from A. T. Larkins, 532 Karangahape Road, Auckland, for a license to commence the manufacture of men’s, women’s, and children’s footwear, including infants’, sizes 3, 4, 5, &c., by the blakestitch, fairstitch, screwed, and cemented processes, sales to be confined to applicant’s own shop only.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 4th December, 1941.
