NOTE.—Officers with special qualifications marked (†) in the column provided for the maximum salary may proceed by annual increments to a maximum of £425, subject to satisfactory reports and provided that the duties performed are of a nature and value commensurate with the increasing salary; from thence by annual increments to a maximum of £470, provided the status of the duties progressively advances.
