WAIPAU COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Waipau County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of eight thousand pounds (£8,000), authorized to be raised by the Waipau County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing land, erecting dwellings, and making alterations, enlargements, and improvements to existing dwellings, pursuant to the provisions of section 192 of the Counties Act, 1920, the said Waipau County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven one-hundred and twenty-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the County of Waipau; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the 10th days of May and November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years from the 10th day of November, 1941, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 29th day of October, 1941, presented to the said Court by the company itself—namely, The Brighton Coal Mines, Limited—and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Christchurch on the 15th day of November, 1941, at 9.30 o'clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an Order on the said petition may appear on the date of the hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.
