Land permanently reserved in the Auckland Land District for Recreation Purposes.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :

And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette :

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by the Warrant dated the twenty-eighth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty-one, and published in the Gazette of the thirty-first day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for recreation purposes :

Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the land described in the Schedule hereto for recreation purposes for which purpose the said land was so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Kawhia Town District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 10Β·2 perches, more or less, being Section 21, Block I, Te Puru Township, Block X, Kawhia North Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/68A, deposited in the Head Office, Lands and Survey Department, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (S.O. plan 30876.)

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 23rd day of October, 1941.

Appointment of Acting-Governor of the Reserve Bank.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the Reserve Bank Emergency Regulations 1940, reappointed William Fox Longley Ward, Esquire, of Wellington, to be Acting-Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, and to hold such office for a term of three months commencing on the 1st day of November, 1941.

Appointment of Inspector of Sea-fishing.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, appointed David Sterritt, of Kaikoura, to be an Inspector of Sea-fishing for the purposes of Part I of the first-mentioned Act.

Appointment of Officer for Purposes of Part II of the Fisheries Act, 1908.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, appointed James Augustus Thomson, of Te Anau, to be an officer for the purposes of Part II of the first-mentioned Act in respect of the Southland Acclimatization District.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, appointed Eric Digby Mead, of Waikino, Albert Seymour Goldsworthy, of Paeroa, and Roy Henry Ratcliff, of Paeroa, to be officers for the purposes of Part II of the first-mentioned Act in respect of the Auckland Acclimatization District.
