SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.-SECOND-CLASS LANDS.
Inangahua County.-Reefton Survey District.-Westland Mining District.
SECTION 6, Block II : Area, 71 acres. Capital value, £90; half-yearly rent, £l 16s.
Weighted with £50 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, comprising 50 chains road-line fencing and 16 acres cleared and grassed.
Situated on the Reefton-Inangahua Main Road, two miles from Rotokohu Post-office and Railway-station, one mile from Rotokohu School, ten miles from Reefton-Golden Coast Dairy-factory, and eight miles from Inangahua Sale-yards. Fair quality level land, the clearing reverting to second growth and blackberry. Section is well watered by the Inangahua River and streams, and is suitable for grazing purposes. There are no buildings.
Section 18, Block VI : Area, 43 acres. Capital value, £25 ; half-yearly rent, 10s.
Weighted with £30 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, comprising 15 chains subdivisional fencing and 20 acres felled and grassed.
Situated on the Reefton-Inangahua Main Road, access being over the railway-line and two miles from Cronadun Post-office, Railway-station, and School, eight miles from Reefton-Golden Coast Dairy-factory, and ten miles from Inangahua Saleyards. Some 20 acres are poor quality flat land and about 23 acres comprise poor pakihi terrace top in birch bush. The clearing is reverting to fern and black-berry. Section is watered by running streams and springs. There are no buildings.

Sections 1A, 2A, 4A, 5, 7, 25, 49, and 50, Block II : Area, 368 acres o roods 4 perches. Capital value, £250 ; half-yearly rent, £5.
Weighted with £160 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, comprising hut, cow-shed, 40 chains road fencing, 160 chains internal fencing, and 100 acres clearing and grassing.
Situated on the main Reefton-Inangahua Road, access being by railway-crossing, half a mile from Rotokohu Railway-station, two miles and a half from Inangahua Landing, School, and Post-office, and seventeen miles from Reefton Dairy-factory and Saleyards. About 100 acres have been felled and grassed but now bad with fern and blackberry; there are about 40 acres of good quality flat land, 100 acres comprise flat swampy land, and 120 acres are poor pakihi country. In its present neglected condition the property is suitable only for grazing, but it could be made into an economic unit. Buildings and fencing are in poor condition.

Milling-timber for Sale by Public Tender.
State Forest Service,
Nelson, 7th October, 1941.
NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the purchase of the undermentioned milling-timber will close at the office of the State Forest Service, Nelson, at 4 p.m. on Friday, 17th October, 1941.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON-MARLBOROUGH CONSERVANCY.-NELSON LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that milling-timber on area containing 45 acres, more or less, situated in Block I, Inangahua Survey District, P.S.F.'s No. 183 and 124, about twenty-two miles from Westport.
The total estimated quantity of timber is :-

Terms of Payment.
Tender to be accompanied by cash (£150), plus £l ls. license fee, and the balance of the upset price to be paid by six equal promissory notes presented at monthly intervals on the 20th of each month after date of sale.
Terms and Conditions.
- All instalment-payments shall be secured by "'on demand" promissory notes made and endorsed to the satis-faction of the Commissioner of State Forests, and interest at the rate of 1 per cent. per annum in excess of current bank overdraft rates will be charged on all notes overdue from the date of maturity to the date of payment.
- The right to cut and remove the timber will be sold in accordance with the provisions of the Forest Act, 1921-22, the regulations in force thereunder, and these conditions.
- The aforementioned qualities, quantities, and kinds as to the said timber shall be taken as sufficiently accurate for the purposes of this sale, and no contract for the purchase shall be voidable, nor shall the successful purchaser be en-titled to any abatement in price, by reason of the said timber being of less quantity, quality, or kind as stated herein or in any advertisement having reference to the said timber.
- A return giving the number of logs cut of each species and their contents must be made quarterly by the licensee on the last days of March, June, September, and December respectively in each year. A return must also be made on the same dates showing the output of sawn timber of each species. These returns may be ascertained and verified by inspection of the books of the mill, or by such other means as the Conservator may require, and for this purpose the accounts and books shall be open to the inspection of the Conservator, a Forest Ranger, or other duly authorized officer.
- The attention of all tenderers is drawn to the fact that the local controlling body may require the successful tenderer to pay any claims or charges which may be made by that body for the maintenance of the road over which the timber may be transported, and before a sawmill license is issued a letter indicating that satisfactory arrangements have been made in this connection must be produced to the undersigned.
- Intending tenderers are expected to visit the locality and to satisfy themselves in every particular on all matters relative to the sale.
- Each tenderer must state the total price that he is prepared to pay for the timber. The highest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted, and the timber described is submitted for sale subject to the final acceptance of the tender by the Commissioner of State Forests.
- The right is reserved to the Commissioner of State Forests to withdraw from sale any or all of the said timber either before or after the closing date for receipt of tenders.
- If no tender is accepted for the timber herein mentioned it will remain open for application for three months from the date tenders close.
- Tenders should be on the special form obtainable from any office of the State Forest Service, and should be enclosed in envelopes addressed to "Conservator of Forests, Nelson," and endorsed "Tender for Timber." The conditions, which will be inserted in the license to be issued to the purchaser, and further particulars may be obtained on application to the undersigned or to the Director of Forestry, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.
WESTLAND CONSERVANCY.-WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.
ALL the milling-timber on that piece of land containing 230 acres, situated in Block III, Kopara Survey District, S.F. No. 26, approximately fifteen miles from Ruru Siding.
The total estimated quantity of timber in cubic feet is 292,800, or in board feet 1,871,000, made up as follows:-

Terms of Payment.
A marked cheque for one quarter of the purchase money, together with £l ls. license fee, must accompany the tender, the balance to be paid in six equal monthly instalments, the first of which shall be made one month after the date of sale and the others at monthly intervals thereafter.
