Notice of Intention to take Land in Block II, Arowhenua Survey District, for a Native School.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for a Native school: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Temuka and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken :
1 acre.
Being Section 6, Arowhenua Village, part Native Reserve 881. Situated in Block II, Arowhenua Survey District (Canterbury R.D.).
In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 112358, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged blue.
As witness my hand at Wellington, this 8th day of October, 1941.

Beacon under construction.
Position : 259°, 4·2 cables from Taiaroa Head Lighthouse. Lat., 45° 46′·5 S.; long., 170° 43′·5 E. (approx.).
Details : A four-pile beacon, which will mark the edge of the channel in 28 ft. M.L.W.S., is being erected in the above position. Masters are requested to exercise care in passing the beacon when a punt is alongside.

Position : Cape Reinga. Lat., 34° 25′·6 S.; long., 172° 40′·5 E. (approx.).
Abridged description : Fl. ev. 28 sec., 542 ft., 31 M.
Details : The permanent light, flashing white every 28 seconds, has been established. Elevation, 542 ft.; visibility, 31 miles; structure—white concrete tower, 34 ft. Arc of visibility, from 042° through east to 265°; also from approximately 359° through north to 042° except where obscured by land.
