Major J. I. Brooke, 26th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while commanding the Central Infantry Training Depot. Dated 6th September, 1941.

Major J. T. Burrows, 20th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while commanding the Central Infantry Training Depot. Dated 7th September, 1941.

N.Z. Artillery.

Lieutenant J. M. D. McCredie is granted the temporary rank of Captain while acting as Staff Captain, N.Z. Artillery. Dated 4th August, 1941.

Lieutenant G. McLean is granted the temporary rank of Captain while commanding a Troop. Dated 8th September, 1941.

N.Z. Engineers.

Lieutenant G. W. Chapman is granted the temporary rank of Captain while acting as Company Commander. Dated 6th September, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant H. Jacks is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant and Acting Captain while detached for special duty. Dated 4th August, 1941.

The undermentioned Captains are granted the temporary rank of Major to complete establishment :—

Major J. D. Cottrell, M.B., B.S. (Sydney), is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while Officer in Charge, Medical Division, No. 2 N.Z. General Hospital. Dated 25th August, 1941.

Major E. G. Sayers, M.B., Ch.B., is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while Officer in Charge, Medical Division, No. 1 N.Z. General Hospital. Dated 25th August, 1941.

Captain T. W. Harrison, M.B., Ch.B., is granted the temporary rank of Major to complete establishment. Dated 29th August, 1941.

The undermentioned are seconded to the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force for duty on H.M.N.Z. Transports :—

7th Reinforcements: 1st Section.

Colonel J. H. Whyte, D.S.O., D.C.M. (N.Z. Staff Corps), is appointed Officer Commanding Convoy and Officer Commanding H.M.N.Z. Transport, with the pay of the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 8th September, 1941.

Lieutenant-Colonel W. T. Churchward, E.D. (Home Guard), is appointed Draft Conducting Officer, Southern Infantry Battalion. Dated 1st September, 1941.

Captain (temp. Major) S. H. Gould (N.Z. Temporary Staff), is appointed Draft Conducting Officer, Composite Battalion, and retains the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 1st September, 1941.

Major R. Sinel, E.D. (Reserve of Officers), is appointed Draft Conducting Officer, Central Infantry Battalion. Dated 10th July, 1941.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) R. H. Perrett (N.Z. Staff Corps), is appointed Ship’s Adjutant, and retains the temporary rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 8th September, 1941.

Captain R. T. St. Lawrence (N.Z. Temporary Staff), is appointed Draft Conducting Officer, Infantry (Maori) Reinforcements. Dated 22nd August, 1941.

Lieutenant and Quartermaster (temp. Captain and Quartermaster) W. F. Sellen (N.Z. Permanent Staff), is appointed Ship’s Messing Officer, and retains the temporary rank of Captain and Quartermaster while so employed. Dated 16th August, 1941.

Rev. J. P. Hally, Chaplain to the Forces, 4th Class, is appointed Ship’s Chaplain. Dated 1st September, 1941.

7th Reinforcements: 2nd Section.

Lieutenant-Colonel C. S. White, V.D. (N.Z. Temporary Staff), is appointed Officer Commanding H.M.N.Z. Transport, and is granted the temporary rank of Colonel while so employed. Dated 1st September, 1941.

Captain (temp. Major) S. W. Crawford, N.Z.M.C. (N.Z. Temporary Staff), is appointed Ship’s Medical Officer, and retains the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 1st September, 1941.

Captain (temp. Major) R. C. Hollis, M.C. (N.Z. Temporary Staff), is appointed Draft Conducting Officer, Composite Battalion. Dated 1st September, 1941.

Lieutenant (temp. Major) T. P. Laffey (N.Z. Staff Corps), is appointed Ship’s Adjutant, and retains the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 1st September, 1941.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) W. L. Britton (N.Z. Temporary Staff), is appointed Second in Command, Composite Battalion, and retains the temporary rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 1st September, 1941.

Captain W. A. W. Gudgeon, M.C. (National Military Reserve), is appointed Draft Conducting Officer, Southern Infantry Battalion, and is granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 1st September, 1941.

Lieutenant A. P. Gordon (N.Z. Army Pay Corps), is appointed Ship’s Paymaster, and granted the acting rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 1st September, 1941.

Lieutenant and Quartermaster J. J. Corkill (N.Z. Permanent Staff), is appointed Ship’s Messing Officer. Dated 1st September, 1941.
