BOUNDARIES OF THE TE WHITI RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF MASTERTON.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of Gordon Street and Te Ore Ore Road; thence easterly along that road and the Masterton-Taueru Road to the north-eastern corner of Section 5, Block VI, Otahoua Survey District; thence along the eastern boundary-line of the said Section 5 to the Taueru River; thence to and down the middle of that river to the county boundary; thence generally south-westerly along the county boundary to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 50, Block IV, Tiffin Survey District; thence to and along that boundary to the north-western corner of the said Section 50; thence along the road forming the northern boundary of the said Section 50 to the Wellington-Wairarapa Railway-line; thence northerly along that railway-line to the boundary of the Borough of Masterton hereinbefore described; thence easterly and northerly generally along the borough boundary to the intersection of Te Ore Ore Road and Gordon Street, the place of commencement.

The Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, and its Amendments.—
Prohibiting the Sale within the Borough of New Plymouth of certain Goods comprised in the Trade of a Fruiterer.


WHEREAS a petition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the fruiterers' shops within the Borough of New Plymouth, has been forwarded to me desiring that the sale of certain goods comprised in the trade of a fruiterer—namely, fresh or preserved fruit (other than jam) or vegetables—be prohibited during such time as the said shops are required to be closed in pursuance of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22:

And whereas I am satisfied that the sale of the said goods is comprised in the trade of a fruiterer within the said borough, and that the signatures to such petition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 33 of the said Act, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct that on and after the 6th day of October, 1941, the sales of the said goods within the Borough of New Plymouth shall be and is hereby prohibited as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays after the hour of 6.30 p.m., with the exception that the sale of the said goods is not prohibited (1) during the period from 11th December in each year to the 7th January in the following year (both dates inclusive), (2) during the four working-days immediately preceding Good Friday, (3) on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday, and (4) on the working-day immediately preceding Anzac Day when Anzac Day falls on a Friday:

WHEREAS a requisition in writing signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the fruiterers’ shops within the Borough of New Plymouth has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops within the said borough be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 6.30 p.m., with the exception that there shall be no fixed closing-hour (1) during the period from the 11th December in each year to the 7th January in the following year (both dates inclusive), (2) during the four working-days immediately preceding Good Friday, (3) on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday, and (4) on the working-day immediately preceding Anzac Day when Anzac Day falls on a Friday:

And whereas I am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct that on and after the 6th day of October, 1941, all the said shops within the said borough shall be closed accordingly.

The notices gazetted on the 10th July, 1930 (1) fixing the closing-hours of fruiterers’ shops within the Borough of New Plymouth, and (2) prohibiting the sale within the Borough of New Plymouth of certain goods comprised in the trade of a fruiterer, shall be and are hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into force of this notice.

Special Arrangements for the Provision of Medical and Pharmaceutical Services for the Residents of Ohura and Surrounding District.

I, ARNOLD HENRY NORDMEYER, Minister of Health, hereby notify for general information that pursuant to section 82 of the Social Security Act, 1938, as extended by section 15 of the Finance Act, No. 4, 1940, I have made special arrangements by which all persons usually resident in the district described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as “the said district”) are, on and after the 11th day of August, 1941, entitled to receive, without charge, at the hands of Richard Cadwaladr Roberts, of Ohura, Registered Medical Practitioner, all such medical and pharmaceutical requirements as are provided as benefits in accordance with the Social Security (Medical Benefits) Regulations 1941, and the Social Security (Pharmaceutical Supplies) Regulations 1941.

In accordance with the provisions of section 82 (2) of the Social Security Act, 1938, the general provisions of the aforementioned regulations in relation to medical benefits and pharmaceutical supplies will not be applicable to residents of the said district for the time being provided for by the special arrangements notified herein.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area comprising the following portions of the Ohura County, namely—

(a) Ohura Town District;
(b) Ohura Riding;
(c) Nihonilho Riding; and
(d) The whole of the Matiere Riding except that part thereof which lies to the east of the Ohura Stream.

notices calling them up for service overseas with the Armed Forces, such persons having been severally convicted for that, being reservists belonging to a division of the Reserve the enrolment of which has been proclaimed, they did fail to make application in writing for enrolment in that class of the Reserve as required by Regulation 43 (1) of the National Service Emergency Regulations 1940.
