NOTICE is hereby given that the matters mentioned in the Schedule hereunder written will be heard by the Native Land Court sitting at Hastings on Wednesday, the 3rd day of September, 1941, or as soon thereafter as the business of the Court will allow.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 26th August, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 29th September, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 1st October, 1941, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Raglan County.—Block VI, Newcastle Survey District.—Parish of Waipa.

ALLOTMENT 222: Area, 254 acres. Capital value, £130. Deposit on deferred payments, £5. Deferred payments: half-yearly instalments (term: ten years), £8 4s. 2d. Renewable lease: half-yearly rent, £2 12s.

Weighted with £500 for improvements, comprising dwelling, cow-shed, separator-room, fencing, clearing and grassing, roads and tracks. The buildings and fencing are in a poor state of preservation. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of £100, the balance may be secured on mortgage to the State Advances Corporation (term, twenty years), with interest at 4½ per cent. reducible to 4¼ per cent. for prompt payment.

NOTE.—Mortgage interest for the first two years will be remitted provided permanent improvements to the value of not less than £45 are effected each year to the satisfaction of the Corporation.

A grazing proposition about two miles off the Ngaruawahia-Waingaro Highway, four miles from Ngaruawahia. The property comprises hilly and broken land of poor quality, suitable for working in conjunction with other land in the district. The section is well watered but is subject to reversion, and a large portion of the area has reverted to fern, blackberry, foxglove, &c. Approximately 20 acres fair pasture, 200 acres rough feed.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 22nd October, 1941, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Egmont County.—Block IV, Opunake Survey District.

NATIVE LAND SETTLEMENT.

Lot 25, D.P. 699, part Ngatitara Block: Area, 337 acres. Capital value, £365. Deposit on deferred payments, £20. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: 34½ years), £11 4s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £9 2s. 6d.

Weighted with £20 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising share of approximately 125 chains fencing.

This property is situated on the Arawata Road, thirteen miles from Opunake Post-office, Railway-station, and Sale-yards, six miles from Ihia School, and eight miles and a half from Arawata Dairy-factory. Access is by metalled road to within quarter of a mile of property. The section is all in milled bush or scrub, with approximately 45 acres swamp. The soil is loam on clay and metal formation; watered by streams. The land is suitable for cattle grazing, but when developed would carry a dairy herd. There is a little ragwort and blackberry.

Land in the Nelson Land District acquired for a State Forest.

State Forest Service,
Wellington, 20th August, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act, 1921-22, as a State forest.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON CONSERVANCY.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, Waimea County, containing 983 acres, more or less, and being Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8, Block VI, Gordon Survey District. (Certificates of title, Vol. 20, folios 25, 26, 27, and Vol. 55, folio 128.)
