Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Retail Sale of Motor-spirits.
AN application has been received from G. G. Callis, Pedigree Stock Mineral Co., Hamilton, for a license to carry on the retail sale of motor-spirits in drums to Superfine Lime Co., Ltd., Te Kumi, near Te Kuiti, direct from the Auckland depot of the Atlantic Union Oil Co., Ltd.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 21st August, 1941.

Taking of Fish for Sale.
AN application has been received from B. S. Thorburn, Rural Delivery, Waikaraka, Whangarei, for a variation of his existing license covering the taking of fish for sale by means of the fishing-vessel “Pixie,” AK. 210, using set-nets, long-lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Whangarei, so as to permit him to fish with the 37 ft. vessel “John Kennedy.”
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 21st August, 1941.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Land in the Taranaki Land District forfeited.
Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, 5th August, 1941.
NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the undermentioned land having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Taranaki Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Settlement Land in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 5th August, 1941.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 22nd September, 1941.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 24th September, 1941, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their financial position and farming experience.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount in reduction of weighting for improvements.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.—SETTLEMENT LAND.
Taranaki County.—Paritutu Survey District.—Huatoki Settlement.
SECTION 30s: Area, 10 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £190; half-yearly rent, £4 15s.
Weighted with £375 for improvements, comprising dwelling, sheds, 25 chains fencing, 3 acres clearing and grassing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £40, the balance may be repaid over a period of fifteen years by half-yearly instalments of principal and interest amounting to £15 14s. 11d., interest 5 per cent. per annum.
Situated on the Sacton Road about three miles from New Plymouth Post-office and one mile from Vogeltown School. Access is by tar-sealed and metalled road. About 3 acres is in grass, remainder being infested with gorse with some blackberry.
