By-law of the Hastings Fire Board approved.

PURSUANT to section 60 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, I, William Edward Parry, being the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, do hereby notify that approval has been given to a by-law, dated 19th June, 1940, made by the Hastings Fire Board, fixing charges in respect of fires outside the Fire District.

The Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940.—Notice fixing Prices of certain Grades.

Wellington, 16th July, 1941.

PURSUANT to Regulation 5 : 1 of the Lemon Marketing Regulations 1940, I hereby fix the following prices per bushel to be paid by the Marketing Department for lemons of fancy grade and commercial grade respectively delivered to the Department during the undermentioned period.

The prices are fixed on an average basic price of 7s. 6d. for sufficient fruit which when cured will pack a bushel case.

Period of delivery (both days inclusive): 16th July to 31st July, 1941—

Declaring a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area.

PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, I, James Gillispie Barclay, Minister of Marketing, being satisfied that a sufficient majority of the producers in the area of land defined in the Schedule hereto are desirous that such area should be declared to be a pool area for the marketing of bobby calves, do hereby declare such area of land defined as aforesaid to be a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area for the purposes of the said regulations under the name set out in the said Schedule ; and I do hereby further declare that this notice shall take effect on the 24th day of July, 1941.

SCHEDULE.

KUMEU BOBBY CALF MARKETING POOL AREA.

ALL that area of land situated within the Waitemata and Eden Counties, and bounded by a line commencing at the north-west corner of Block VIII, Kumeu Survey District; thence taking a straight line across country in a north-easterly direction to the easternmost corner of Section B 2A, Block VI, Kumeu Survey District; thence from this point taking a straight line across country in a north-easterly direction to the south-western corner of Section 10, Block XIII, Waiwera Survey District; thence from this point taking a straight line across country in an easterly direction to the northernmost corner of Section N.W. 43, Block XIII aforesaid; thence from this point taking a straight line in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of Block XIII, Waiwera Survey District; thence to and along the eastern boundary of Block I, Waitemata Survey District, to the Riverhead Inlet; thence continuing along the foreshore in a south-easterly then southerly direction to the point where the Great North Road crosses the Whau River in the Eden County; thence along the Great North Road in a south-westerly direction to the point where it meets the Titirangi Road; thence from this point following the Titirangi Road in a southerly direction to Titirangi; thence from Titirangi continuing along the Scenic Drive in a north-westerly direction to the point where it meets the West Coast—Swanson Road; thence following this road in a westerly direction to the point where the road meets the sea-coast in Block I, Waitakerei Survey District; thence from this point continuing in a northerly direction along the sea-coast to the north-west corner of Block VIII, Kumeu Survey District, being the original point of commencement.

Election of Members of the Kumeu Bobby Calf Pool Committee.

PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations 1939, notice has been received that

have been duly elected to be members of the Kumeu Bobby Calf Pool Committee established by the said regulations.

District declared to be an Isolated Area in Terms of Section 82 of the Social Security Act, 1938.

IT is hereby notified for general information that I have declared the district described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as “the district”) to be an isolated area of such a nature that medical and pharmaceutical benefits generally provided for in Part III of the Social Security Act, 1938, cannot be efficiently rendered in accordance with the general provisions of the said Part III, and that, pursuant to section 82 (2) of the said Act, I have made special arrangements to take effect on and after the 21st day of July, 1941, to the intent that the general provisions of the said Part III relating to medical and pharmaceutical benefits shall not be applicable to persons usually resident in the said district.

Under these special arrangements all persons usually resident in the said district are entitled to receive free of cost and at the hands of William Bertram Ochiltree Ferguson, of Arrowtown, registered medical practitioner, ordinary medical care and attention of the same range and scope as are provided as medical benefits in accordance with the Social Security (Medical Benefits) Regulations 1941, and all medicines, drugs, appliances, and other materials that may from time to time be included in the drug tariff set up under the authority of the Social Security (Pharmaceutical Supplies) Regulations 1941. In accordance with the provisions of section 82 (2) of the said Act the general provisions made under the aforementioned regulations for the provision of medical benefits and pharmaceutical supplies benefits will no longer be applicable to residents of the said district.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Otago, comprising the Borough of Arrowtown and all that portion of the Arrow Riding of the Lake County lying to the south of a right line running from Mount Hyde to Mount Cardrona.
