Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise
of the power and authority conferred on him by section
fifteen of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1940, and of every other
power and authority enabling him in that behalf, and acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare and order as
follows :—

  1. The contributor shall be entitled to continue to be a
    contributor to the Public Service Superannuation Fund
    during and in respect of the period of his engagement with
    the Association, subject, however, to the provisions of the
    aforesaid section fifteen of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1940,
    and to the following express conditions :—
    (a) The contribution of the contributor to the Public
    Service Superannuation Fund shall (in accordance
    with subsection five of the said section fifteen) be
    at the rate of five per centum of the salary received
    by him from the Association.
    (b) In addition to the contribution payable by the con-
    tributor, as specified in the last preceding paragraph,
    there shall be paid to the credit of the fund by the
    Association at such times and in such manner as
    may be determined by the Public Service Super-
    annuation Board a sum equal to three per centum
    of the salary from time to time payable to the
    contributor by the Association.
  2. If the contributor is re-employed by the Association
    while in receipt of a retiring-allowance from the
    Public Service Superannuation Fund, no more of
    such retiring-allowance shall be paid in respect
    of any month than is equivalent, when added to the
    remuneration so received by him in that month, to
    one-twelfth of the annual salary on the basis of
    which he was contributing to the fund at the date
    of his retirement.

    Appointment of Members of the Aitutaki Island Council.

    Act, 1915, and to an Order in Council made thereunder
    on the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred
    and fifteen, His Excellency the Governor-General doth hereby
    appoint
    John Rima, of Amuri, and
    Nerio, of Nikau para,
    to be members of the Island Council of Aitutaki during his
    pleasure as from the date hereof, in lieu of Tamu Panioni
    and Tiro (deceased).
    As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
    General, this 10th day of July, 1941.

    Appointment of a Member of the Penrhyn Island Council.

    PURSUANT to section sixty-five of the Cook Islands
    Act, 1915, and to an Order in Council made thereunder
    on the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred
    and fifteen, His Excellency the Governor-General doth hereby
    appoint
    Taia, of Te Tautua,
    to be a member of the Island Council of Penrhyn during his
    pleasure as from the date hereof, in lieu of Hiro Hapai
    (deceased).
    As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
    General, this 10th day of July, 1941.

    Appointment of a Member of the Rakahanga Island Council.

    PURSUANT to section sixty-five of the Cook Islands
    Act, 1915, and to an Order in Council made thereunder
    on the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred
    and fifteen, His Excellency the Governor-General doth hereby
    appoint
    Alepha
    to be a member of the Island Council of Rakahanga during
    his pleasure as from the date hereof, in lieu of Enota Greig
    (resigned).
    As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
    General, this 10th day of July, 1941.

    Appointment of a Member of the Manihiki Island Council.

    1915, and to an Order in Council made thereunder

    and fifteen, His Excellency the Governor-General doth hereby
    appoint
    Vakatini Williams
    to be a member of the Island Council of Manihiki during his
    pleasure as from the date hereof, in lieu of Teokotai Williams
    (resigned).
    As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
    General, this 10th day of July, 1941.

    Appointment of a Member of the Mangaia Island Council.

    PURSUANT to section sixty-five of the Cook Islands
    Act, 1915, and to an Order in Council made thereunder
    on the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred
    and fifteen, His Excellency the Governor-General doth hereby
    appoint
    Puati, of Tavaenga,
    to be a member of the Island Council of Mangaia during his
    pleasure as from the date hereof, in lieu of Tokoruakore
    (deceased).
    As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
    General, this 10th day of July, 1941.

    Appointing a Member of the Whakatane Harbour Board.

    His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion
    of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and
    authority conferred upon him by section twenty-eight of the
    Harbours Act, 1923, and of all other powers and authorities
    enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby appoint
    George Alexander Brabant
    to be a member of the Whakatane Harbour Board as a
    representative of the electors of the constituent district of
    the Whakatane Borough, to fill an extraordinary vacancy
    on the Board caused by the failure of the said constituent
    district to elect the required number of representatives.
    As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
    General, this 8th day of July, 1941.

    Vesting the Control of Scenic Reserves in the Dunedin City
    Council.

    In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
    conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery
    Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as "the said
    Act"), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion
    of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic
    reserves described in the Schedule hereto (being lands reserved
    under the said Act) in the Dunedin City Council, subject to
    the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—
  3. The period for which the control of the reserves is hereby
    vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the
    reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said
    Act.
  4. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending
    on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of
    receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserves.
    Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister
    charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as
    possible after the close of the year.
  5. The said Council shall control the said reserves in
    accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the
    regulations made thereunder,
