Education Reserve in North Auckland Land District for Lease by Public Tender.
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 20th May, 1941.
NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders, marked on the outside “Tender,” will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, up to 2 o’clock p.m. on Friday, 11th July, 1941, for a lease of the undermentioned education reserve under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVE.
Mangonui County.—Ahipara Parish.
Allotments 58 and 70: Area, 193 acres 3 roods 38 perches. Minimum annual rental, £15.
This property, situated on the main road from Kaitaia to Ahipara one and a half miles distant from Kaitaia, comprises undulating country, with some swamp and nearly all ploughable. Mostly covered with tea-tree and gorse, and poorly watered by springs and swamp.
Term of lease, twenty-one years with perpetual right of renewal at revaluation.

Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 20th May, 1941.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, 11th July, 1941.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 16th July, 1941, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LANDS.
Hobson County.—Kaihu Survey District.
SECTION 24, Block IV: Area, 151 acres. Capital value, £300. Deposit on deferred payments, £15; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: 34½ years), £9 5s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £6.
Section 25, Block IV: Area, 174 acres. Capital value, £350. Deposit on deferred payments, £15; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: 34½ years), £10 17s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £7.
Section 26, Block IV: Area, 144 acres. Capital value, £290. Deposit on deferred payments, £15; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: 34½ years), £8 18s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 16s.
These sections which are suitable for grazing, are situated on a side road off the Waihue Road, thirteen and a half miles from Dargaville. Access is considered suitable for run-off purposes. Sections are undulating to hilly and broken and covered in second growth, there being a little grass (paspalum mixed with native grasses). Watered by springs in winter.
NOTE.—Areas are subject to slight variation on completion of survey with corresponding adjustment of capital values and rentals or instalments.

This property, situated on the main road from Kaitaia to Ahipara one mile and a half from Kaitaia, comprises undulating to hilly land mostly covered with tea-tree and gorse. The sections are poorly watered by springs and swamps.

Town Settlement Land in Wellington Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 23rd June, 1941.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Wednesday, 25th June, 1941, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN SETTLEMENT LAND.
Petone Borough.—Wilford Settlement.—Belmont Survey District.
SECTION 13, Block III: Area, 1 rood 2·67 perches. Capital value, £250; half-yearly rent, £6 5s.
Wilford Settlement is situated on the eastern part of the Borough of Petone and this section is only a few minutes walk from Ava Station. The section, which fronts on to Wakefield Street, is suitable for residential purposes, and sewerage, drainage, high-pressure water-supply, gas, and electricity are all available.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Tuesday, 8th July, 1941.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on Thursday, 10th July, 1941, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.
NOTE.—This section is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Buller County.—Mokihinui Survey District.—Karamea Mining District (Westport Harbour Endowment).
SECTION 8, Block XIV, and Section 11, Block X: Area, 35 acres 3 roods 27 perches. Capital value, £45; half-yearly rent, 18s.
Weighted with £151 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising four-roomed cottage, 24 acres felling and grassing, and 30 chains of fencing.
Situated twenty-six miles from Westport Post-office and Dairy-factory, one mile from Nikau Railway-station, one mile from Summerlea School, and fifty-five miles from Inangahua Saleyards. Access is by formed and metalled main road or by railway. About 8 acres are flat, 2 acres terrace flat, balance being hillside, about 12 acres of the latter being in bush. Soil is of fair quality on sandstone formation, watered by a small stream. Elevation is from 40 ft. to 250 ft. above sea-level. Suitable as a run-off for an adjacent settler or for some one with outside work.
