The Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations 1939.—
Appointment of Emergency Disputes Committee.

IN pursuance of the powers in that behalf conferred upon
me by the Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations
1939, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby
appoint the following persons to be an Emergency Disputes
Committee for the purposes of the said regulations, and do
refer to that Committee a dispute which has arisen between
the Canterbury Freezing-works and Related Trades Em-
ployees’ Industrial Union of Workers and Thos. Borthwick
and Sons, Ltd., Belfast :—

Member of the Board of Examiners under the Mining Act,
1926, reappointed.

to be a member of the Board of Examiners under the Mining
Act, 1926, for a further term of three years as from the 1st
May, 1941.

Appointment of Issuing Officers for the Purpose of issuing
Licenses to take or kill Opossums in the Rotorua Acclima-
tization District.

PURSUANT to the provisions of Condition No. 3 included
under the heading “Rotorua Acclimatization District”
in the Order in Council dated the 30th day of April, 1941,
made under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22,
and published in New Zealand Gazette No. 37 of the 1st day
of May, 1941, at page 1081, declaring open seasons for the
taking or killing of opossums in the acclimatization districts
specified in such Order in Council, I, Joseph William Allen
Heenan, Under-Secretary of the Department of Internal
Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint—
The Conservator of Fish and Game, Rotorua,
Ranger G. G. Potts, Taupo.
Ranger H. Frame, Tuai, Hawke’s Bay,
The Manager, Lake House, Waikaremoana,
The Postmaster, Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay,
The Postmaster, Tuai,
to be issuing officers for the purpose of issuing licenses to take
or kill opossums in the Rotorua Acclimatization District under
and subject to the general conditions set forth in the said
Order in Council and the special conditions set forth under
the heading “Rotorua Acclimatization District.”

General has, pursuant to section 49 of the Land Act,
1924, been pleased to reappoint
Patrick Joseph O’Kane
to be a member of the Land Board of the Land District of
Gisborne for a further term of two years from 29th April,
1941 ; and
Ivan Francis Watt, and
John William Gordon
to be members of the Land Board of the Land District of
Gisborne, each for a further term of two years from the 31st
May, 1941.

Ellesmere Lands Drainage Board, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1926.

THE ELLESMERE LANDS DRAINAGE BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 19th day of April,
1941, the Ellesmere Lands Drainage Board submitted to
a poll of the ratepayers in the River Area of the Board’s
district a proposal to raise a special loan of six thousand
pounds (£6,000), known as the “Halswell Dredging Loan,
1940,” for the following purposes :—
The purchasing of a drag-line dredge and pontoon for
dredging the Halswell River and drains in the Board’s district
and the cost of carrying out such work.
At the poll the votes were recorded as follows :—
Votes.
For the proposal . . . . . . 288
Against the proposal . . . . . 48

Majority for the proposal . . . . 240
I declare the said proposal carried.
