Lands in the Wellington Land District forfeited.

NOTICE is hereby given that the leases of the undermentioned lands having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Wellington Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 13th May, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o'clock a.m. on Monday, 23rd June, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 25th June, 1941, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands. Applicants are required to produce documentary evidence of their farming experience and financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant will be required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Waitomo County.—Oraikiri Survey District.

(Exempt from payment of rent for three years.*)

SECTION 1b, Block XIII, and Section 3, Block XIII: Area, 842 acres 1 rood 30 perches. Capital value, £425; half-yearly rent, £8 10s.

*Rent exemption for three years is conditional on permanent improvements to twice the value of the rent remitted being effected during the exemption period in addition to the improvements required to be effected in terms of the Land Act, 1924.

Weighted with £610 for improvements, comprising house (in fair order), wool-shed, iron shack, 600 chains subdivisional fencing, 300 acres cleared and surface sown. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £90, the balance (£520) may remain on mortgage for a term of twenty years with interest at 5 per cent. by half-yearly instalments of principal and interest combined amounting to £20 14s. 4d. each. Subject to the improvements required to earn the rental exemption being effected the interest payable under the mortgage will be remitted for three years.

A grazing proposition situated on the Hauturu—Putake Road, ten miles from Waitomo Post-office and School, twenty miles from Otorohanga Dairy Factory; access is by metalled road for eight miles and the balance (two miles) clay track. The soil is fair quality clay on sandstone and limestone; watered by permanent creek and springs. The property is undulating to hilly and steep with outcrops of rock and 518 acres is fern with rough feed and 324 acres is in its natural state. Some blackberry and ragwort.

Note.—The attention of intending applicants is specially drawn to the fact that the last two miles of the access to this property is by clay track. The Crown does not accept any responsibility to improve the existing access in any way.

Lands in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned properties are open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Monday, 23rd June, 1941.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 25th June, 1941, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicants are required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.


SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LANDS.

Waitomo County.—Totoro Survey District.

SECTION 5, Block V: Area, 161 acres. Capital value, £160. Deposit on deferred payments, £10: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: twenty years), £6 4s. 8d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £3 4s.

Weighted with £505 10s. for improvements, comprising old dwelling, washhouse, wool-shed, garage, cow-bye, 141 chains fencing, 80 acres felled and grassed, 81 acres felled and burned and partly reverted, and 10 acres cleared and stumped. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £313 10s., the balance may be payable over a period of twenty years by half-yearly instalments of principal and interest of £7 15s. 5d. each, interest 5 per cent.

A mixed farm situated on the Te Mapara road, six miles from Piopio Post-office, school, dairy-factory, and salcaryards, and fourteen miles from Te Kuiti Railway-station. Access is by metalled road. The soil is clay loam resting on papa and sandstone formation, watered by springs. The property, which is subdivided into four paddocks, comprises a little easy undulating country in front, running to hilly and steep at the back; about 80 acres fair pasture, and 81 acres worn-out pasture reverted to manuka and fern. A little ragwort.

Waitomo County.—Mapara Survey District.

Section 18, Block X: Area, 7 acres 1 rood 4-9 perches. Capital value, £15. Deposit on deferred payments, £5: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments (term: ten years), 13s. 2d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 6s.

Weighted with £7 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising felling and grassing and 18 chains fencing.

Situated on the Ellis Road, one mile from Mangapehi Post-office, school, and railway-station. Access is by metalled road. The soil is light pumice loam on clay and sandstone formation. Mangapehi Stream intersects the section. The area is all level and is suitable as a residential-site where a few cows could be milked.
