Mining Privilege to be struck off the Register.

Mining Registrar’s Office, Greymouth, 30th April, 1941.

NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with the provisions of section 188 (3) of the Mining Act, 1926, as amended by section 18 of the Mining Amendment Act, 1937, that unless sufficient cause to the contrary is shown within one month from the date hereof, the mining privilege mentioned in the Schedule hereto will be struck off the Register.

Notice to make Returns of Income under the Land and Income Tax Act, 1923, and Amendments.

EVERY person and company, whether a taxpayer or not, having derived income during the year ended 31st March, 1941, from any source or by any means which is made the subject of taxation under the Land and Income Tax Act, 1923, or any amendment thereof, is hereby required to forward to or deliver at my office, Wellington C.3, in the prescribed form (obtainable at any post-office), returns of such income on or before the 2nd June, 1941.

Where returns are accepted for a year ending later than 31st March they shall be made within two months of such later date.

Details of those required to furnish returns are displayed at post-offices.

Any person failing to furnish a return at the prescribed time is liable to a penalty up to £100.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Taking of Fish for Sale.

AN application has been received from K. G. Sharrowck, 6 Apihai Street, Orakei, Auckland, for a license to commence to carry on the retail sale of wet and cooked fish from premises situated at Coates Avenue, Orakei.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 29th May, 1941.

Taking of Fish for Sale.

AN application has been received from W. Alexander, jun., 49 Sefton Street, Timaru, for an extension of his existing license covering the taking of fish for sale by means of the fishing-vessel “Pursuit,” TU 89, using trawl-nets, long-lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Timaru so as to fish off Moeraki during the winter months.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 29th May, 1941.
