WAIPA DRAINAGE BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Part II of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, section 35 of the Local Legislation Act, 1940, and the Waipa Drainage Board Loans Conversion Order, 1940, the Waipa Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest on the new securities, authorized to be issued by the Waipa Drainage Board under the above-mentioned Acts and Order, in conversion of existing securities issued in respect of the loans set out in the First Schedule to that Order, the said Waipa Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate on all rateable lands of the district; such special rate shall be made and levied on a graduated scale according to the classification of the said lands as set out in the classification list of such lands as follows: 5¾d. in the pound on the rateable value of such of the said lands as are included in class (a) in the said classification list, 3¾d. in the pound on the rateable value of such of the said lands as are included in class (b) in the said classification list, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities and be payable yearly on the 14th day of July in each and every year until the last maturity date of such securities being the 1st day of December, 1965, or until all such securities are fully paid off.”

I certify the above resolution was duly confirmed on the 29th day of November, 1940.

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF NAME.

I, MORRIS JACK TRAVIS, heretofore called and known by the name of MORRIS JACOB TAVROGIS, of the City of Wellington, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Cabinet-maker, hereby give public notice that on the 15th day of January, 1941, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said name of Morris Jacob Tavrogis and then assumed and adopted and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of Morris Jack Travis instead of the said name of Morris Jacob Tavrogis:

And I give further notice that by a deed-poll dated the 15th day of January, 1941, duly executed and attested and enrolled at the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Wellington, on the 17th day of January, 1941, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said name of Morris Jacob Tavrogis and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of Morris Jack Travis instead of Morris Jacob Tavrogis, and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of Morris Jack Travis exclusively.

DOVE AND COMPANY, LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following special resolution was passed by the above company on the 17th day of December, 1940:—

“That Dove and Company, Limited, be liquidated voluntarily; that DUDLEY NORTON CHAMBERS be appointed liquidator of the company.”

Any person having any claim against the company is asked to forward details of his claim to Chambers, Worth, and Chambers, Box 397, Auckland.

MATAKAOA COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Matakaoa County Council proposes, under the provisions in the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the acquisition of certain land for the purposes of the construction of a road—and for the purpose of such public work, the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that plans of the land so required to be taken are deposited in the office of the clerk of the said council situated at Te Araroa in the said county, New Zealand, and are open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or by the taking of such land, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work, or to the taking of the said land, must state their objections in writing, and send same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.
