Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part III), and Amendments.

WHEREAS it has been reported to the Public Trustee that Gordon William Havelock Adams, of Dunedin, in the Provincial District of Otago, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Publisher’s Assistant, is the owner of the following property, the gross value of which is less than £1,000—namely, Dunedin Savings-bank account, £11; interest in furniture, £58; National Provident Fund contribution, £50; all that his interest under Deed of Lease No. 155372 from the Otago Presbyterian Church Board of Property of Lot 3 on Deeds Plan 323, City of Dunedin, and being part Section 14, Block VII, Town District, containing 28·5 perches, more or less, and being the whole of the land described in Register Book, Vol. 287, folio 183, Otago Registry, limited as to title and area and subject as the said lease No. 155372 to the drainage rights reserved thereby, £500:

And whereas it is not known where the said Gordon William Havelock Adams is or whether he is alive or dead: And whereas it is provided by Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (relating to unclaimed property), as amended by section 41 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, that where the value of unclaimed real or personal property does not exceed £1,000 the Public Trustee (with the consent of the Public Trust Office Board) may by notice in the Gazette declare his intention of taking possession of such property and exercising the powers conferred upon him by section 87 of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, without application to the Court: And whereas the said consent of the Public Trust Office Board has been duly given:

Now, the Public Trustee hereby gives notice that he intends to take possession of the real and personal property above mentioned of the said Gordon William Havelock Adams, and to exercise in respect thereof the powers conferred upon him in and by the provisions of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Fish Retailing.

AN application has been received from A. J. Black, Sunbury Street, Anderson’s Bay, Dunedin, for an extension of his existing license covering the retail sale of wet fish from his depot situated in Portobello Road, so as to permit the hawking of wet fish in the Otago Peninsula as far as Broad Bay, and also in the suburbs of Anderson’s Bay, Vauxhall, and Tainui.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 22nd May, 1941.

Fish Retailing.

AN application has been received from O. C. Stackhouse, 353 Riccarton Road, Upper Riccarton, for a license to commence to carry on the retail sale of oysters, both opened and in shell, from premises situated at the above address.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 22nd May, 1941.

Notice to persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Taking of Fish for Sale.

AN application has been received from W. G. Gregory, Regent Street, Waihi, for a license to take fish for sale by means of the fishing-vessel “Iona,” TA 393, using set-nets, drag-nets, long-lines, hand-lines, and crayfish pots, catches to be landed at Tanner’s Point and Bowentown.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish them in writing not later than the 22nd May, 1941.

Election of Member of North Auckland Land Board.

Lands and Survey Office, North Auckland Land District, Auckland, 29th April, 1941.

IN accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations thereunder, I, Leo John Poff, Commissioner of Crown Lands for the North Auckland Land District, as Returning Officer for the election of a member of the North Auckland Land Board, do hereby declare the result of the poll taken on the 28th April, 1941, to be as follows:—
