The Master and Apprentice Act, 1908, and its Amendments.—
Notice declaring the Mines Department to be a Department
in which Apprentices may be taken.

NOTICE is hereby given that in exercise of the powers
conferred on me by the Master and Apprentice Act,
1908, and its amendments, I, James Gillispie Barclay, acting
for the Minister of Labour, do hereby declare that the arts
and trades used and exercised in the Department mentioned
in the Schedule hereto shall be deemed to be arts and trades
within the meaning of Part II of the said Act, and that the
officer named in the said schedule shall be deemed to be the
master for the purposes of the said Part II of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

County Council on 16th January, 1941, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act,
1928.

SPECIAL ORDER.

In pursuance' and exercise of the powers vested in it by
section 5 (c) of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Matamata
County Council hereby resolves and declares by way of special
order that the undermentioned plant is a noxious weed within
the County of Matamata:—

Hemlock (Conium maculatum).

Notice to Persons desirous of applying for a Pharmacy License
under the Industrial Efficiency Act. 1936.

Pharmacy Industry.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Bureau of Industry is
prepared to consider applications for a Pharmacy
License at Orakei, Auckland, in premises situated in Coates
Avenue.

Particulars of premises available may be obtained from
the Branch Manager, State Advances Corporation, Auckland.

Forms of application for license may be obtained from the
undersigned, and applications must be submitted not later
than the 28th April, 1941.

under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Taking of Fish for Sale.

A N application has been received from A. M. Stuart, 38
Battery Road, Napier, for an extension of his existing
license covering the taking of fish for sale by means of the
vessel “Islander,” WN. 38, using set-nets, drag-nets, long-
lines, and hand-lines, catches being landed at Port Ahuriri,
so as to permit the use of trawl-nets.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected
by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application,
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish them in writing not later than the 24th April, 1941.

using drag-nets, long-lines, and hand-lines, catches to be
landed at Bowentown Heads.

by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application,
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish them in writing not later than the 24th April, 1941.

lines, and hand-lines, catches to be landed at Mikanui.

by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application,
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish them in writing not later than the 27th April, 1941.

Ltd., King Street, Wellington, for a license to commence
to carry on the above industry to the extent of manufacturing
half galoshes.

and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish them in writing not later than the 24th April, 1941.

Coutts Street, Kilbirnie, for a transfer of his existing
license covering the retail sale of wet and cooked fish from
premises at that address known as “Burgiss’s Fish Supply,”
so as to enable him to operate from premises in Seatoun yet
to be decided upon.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected
by the decision of the Bureau of Industry on this application,
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish them in writing not later than the 24th April, 1941.
