The Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations 1939.-Appointment of Emergency Disputes Committee.

IN pursuance of the powers in that behalf conferred upon me by the Strike and Lockout Emergency Regulations 1939, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby appoint the following persons to be an Emergency Disputes Committee for the purposes of the said regulations, and do refer to that Committee a dispute which has arisen between the Otahuhu Chemical Manure Workers' Union (Incorporated), and the Challenge Phosphate Co., Ltd., Kemptthorne, Prosser, and Co.'s New Zealand Drug Co., Ltd., and the New Zealand Farmers' Fertilizer Co., Ltd.:-

Appointment in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand).

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointment in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand):-

Arthur Kenneth Griffiths, Esquire, entered as a Probationary Temporary Lieutenant, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand), to date 13th March, 1941, and appointed to H.M.S. "Philomel," additional for patrol launches.

N.Z. STAFF CORPS.

Lieutenant J. K. Collins relinquishes his short service commission in the N.Z. Staff Corps. Dated 28th March, 1941.

N.Z. ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS.

Captain D. L. Lewis is granted the temporary rank of Major, and is seconded to the Eastern Group Central Provision Office, India. Dated 25th March, 1941.

David Ivan Strickland to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is seconded to the Eastern Group Central Provision Office, India. Dated 25th March, 1941.

N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.

Lieutenant A. J. Kerse, Chief Instructor (Infantry), Mobilization Camp, Trentham, is granted the temporary rank of Captain while so employed. Dated 29th January, 1941.

Lieutenant G. A. Nicholls, N.Z. Artillery, to be Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Instructor, Artillery Training Regiment, Mobilization Camp, Papakura. Dated 24th March, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant G. R. Booth, M.M., is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 26th March, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant J. F. Cody, M.M., is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 26th March, 1941.

2nd Lieutenant R. A. Johnston, The Otago Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), and is appointed Adjutant, lst Battalion, The Otago Regiment. Dated 19th March, 1941.

COMMANDS.

Colonel H. C. Hurst, C.B.E., D.S.O., V.D., 3rd Battalion, National Military Reserve, is appointed to command the Battalion. Dated 7th August, 1940.

Colonel G. R. Mitchell, D.S.O., V.D., No. 9 (Taieri) Squadron Mounted Rifles, is appointed to command the Squadron. Dated 2nd September, 1940.

Major C. St. G. M. C. Parsons, No. 6 (Marlborough) Squadron Mounted Rifles, is appointed to command the Squadron. Dated 1st September, 1940.

Major J. M. Lorimer, No. 7 (Nelson) Squadron Mounted Rifles, is appointed to command the Squadron. Dated 1st September, 1940.

Major C. H. Sykes, No. 8 (Ellesmere) Squadron Mounted Rifles, is appointed to command the Squadron. Dated 1st September, 1940.

Major G. H. Allan, 2nd Battalion, National Military Reserve, is appointed to command the Battalion, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 21st March, 1941.

Captain (temp. Major) S. Hunter, M.B., Ch.B., F.R.C.S. (Edin.), N.Z. Medical Corps, is appointed to command the 3rd Field Ambulance. Dated 27th September, 1939.
