the Wairarapa Stream ; then north-westerly along the left
bank of that stream to Rural Section 242 ; then north-
westerly along the north-eastern boundary of the said Rural
Section 242 to Norman’s Road ; then to and along the
south-western side of Wairarapa Road to a point in line with
the south-eastern boundary of Lot 7 on deposited plan 2150 ;
then to and along that boundary to the easternmost corner
of the said Lot 7 ; then along a right line parallel to Bligh’s
Road to a point on the south-western boundary of Lot 12
on deposited plan 11183 ; then north-westerly along the
south-western boundary of Lots 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28,
30, and 35, on deposited plan 11183 aforesaid, to the western-
most corner of the last-mentioned lot ; then north-easterly
along the north-western boundary of the said Lot 35 and Lots
34, 33, and 32, on plan 11183, to a point on the south-western
boundary of Lot 34 on deposited plan 2444 ; then north-
westerly along the south-western boundary of the said Lot
34 and Lots 33 and 32, on plan 2444 aforesaid, to and across
Aorangi Road ; then south-westerly along the north-western
side of that road to the south-western boundary of Lot 5 on
deposited plan 11375 ; then north-westerly along that
boundary and along the south-western boundary of Lot 6,
on plan 11375 aforesaid, to the westernmost corner of that
lot ; then north-easterly along the north-western boundaries
of the said Lot 6, deposited plan 11375, and Lot 1 on deposited
plan 2444 aforesaid, and Lots 6 and 5 on deposited plan 3832,
and Lots 3A, 3, 2, and 1 on deposited plan 1656, and Lots
7, 6, 5, and 8 on deposited plan 2075, to a point 300 links
distant from the south-western side of Harewood Road ;
then north-westerly along a line parallel to and distant
300 links from the south-western side of Harewood Road
aforesaid to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary
of Rural Section 112 ; then north-easterly to and along
that boundary to the north-eastern side of Langdon’s Road,
the point of commencement.

A PROCLAMATION.
B Y virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests
Act, 1921–22, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto
as a provisional State forest.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON FOREST-CONSERVATION
REGION.
ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, Inangahua County,
containing by admeasurement 319 acres, more or less, being
part of Section 3, Block XII, Maimai Survey District, and
bounded generally as follows : Towards the north-east by
Section 4, Block XII aforesaid, 4260 links ; towards the
south - east by a provisional State forest (Gazette 1920,
page 2111), Block IX, Reef ton Survey District, and Block XII,
Maimai Survey District ; towards the south-west by Section 2,
Block XII aforesaid, 6519·1 links ; and towards the north-
west by the other part of Section 3 aforesaid, 6339·6 links,
bearing 44° 59′ 32″. As the same is more particularly
delineated on plan No. 113/17, deposited in the Head Office
of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon
bordered red. (Nelson S.O. plan 9167.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 19th day

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—NELSON FOREST-
CONSERVATION REGION.
ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, Marlborough
County, containing by admeasurement 796 acres, more or
less, and being Lot 1 of Section 9 and Lot 1 of Section 10,
Block VII, Heringa Survey District. As the same is more
particularly delineated on plan No. 103/12, deposited in the
Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and
thereon bordered red. (Nelson S.O. plan 1676/24.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 19th day of
March, 1941.

Revocation of the Reservation of Portion of a Permanent State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.
B Y virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Forests Act, 1921–22, and pur-
suant to a resolution in that behalf passed by both Houses
of Parliament—that is to say, by the Legislative Council on
the twenty-ninth day of August, one thousand nine hundred
and forty, and by the House of Representatives on the
twenty-eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred
and forty—I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke
(so far only as it relates to the land described in the Schedule
hereto) the Proclamation of the twenty-seventh day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, published in
the Gazette on the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and ninety-eight, at page 1049, whereby the said land
(with certain other land) was set apart as a permanent State
forest, and declare that the reservation thereby affected is
(so far only as aforesaid) revoked accordingly.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—CANTERBURY FOREST-
CONSERVATION REGION.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District and the County
of Mackenzie containing by admeasurement 47 acres 2 roods
25 perches, more or less, and being Reserve 3244 (formerly
called Section No. 3244, in red), situated in Block XIV,
Tangawai Survey District. As the same is delineated (for
the purpose of assisting the description hereinbefore con-
tained and not so as to govern or control the same in the
event of any variance or discrepancy between such delinea-
tion and the description hereinbefore contained) on plan
No. 160/4, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest
Service, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 19th day of
March, 1941.

W HEREAS the Scenery Preservation Board, constituted
pursuant to the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908
(hereinafter referred to as “ the said Act ”), has recommended
that the lands described in the Schedule hereto should be
permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient
to give effect to such recommendation :
Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and
