BANKS PENINSULA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
DEVELOPMENT LOAN, 1940.
Resolution making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and by virtue of an Order in Council appearing in the New Zealand Gazette No. 15, 20th February, 1941, the Banks Peninsula Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the Banks Peninsula Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act and Order in Council, for the purpose of providing additional moneys for the construction of electric works within the Banks Peninsula Electric-power District, the said Banks Peninsula Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one thirty-second of a penny (¹⁄₃₂d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Banks Peninsula Electric-power District, comprising the whole of the Borough of Akaroa, and the Counties of Akaroa, Wairewa, and Mount Herbert, and the Diamond Harbour Settlement in the Borough of Lyttelton, and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The common seal of the Banks Peninsula Electric-power Board was hereto affixed at a meeting of the Board held at its office at Little River on the 3rd day of March, 1941.

WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNTY.
RURAL HOUSING LOAN, 1940, £10,000.
Copy of resolution making special rate, passed by the Wairarapa South County Council on the 27th day of February, 1941.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and the Rural Housing Act, 1939, and its amendments, and pursuant to an Order in Council signed on the 18th day of December, 1940, and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 19th day of December, 1940, at page 3728, the Wairarapa South County Council resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the Wairarapa South County Council Rural Housing Loan, 1940, £10,000, authorized to be raised by the Wairarapa South County Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of making advances to farmers for the erection of dwellings under the Rural Housing Act, 1939, the said Wairarapa South County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one twenty-first of a penny (¹⁄₂₁d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the County of Wairarapa South; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of March and the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I, Edwin Thomas Beaven, Clerk of the Wairarapa South County Council, hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed by the Wairarapa South County Council on the 27th day of February, 1941.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933.
NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of White Star Taxis, Limited (in Liquidation), will be held at the office of John Anderson Sim, Solicitor, 12 Manse Street, Dunedin, on Thursday, the 10th day of April, 1941, at 2.15 p.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before it showing how the winding up of the company has been conducted and the property of the company has been disposed of, it being intended that the said account shall be duly filed in the office of the Registrar of Companies for the purpose of effecting the dissolution of the said company.

INGLEWOOD COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Extract from the minutes of the Inglewood County Council in respect of a meeting held by the Council on the 14th day of October, 1940.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Inglewood County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the Inglewood County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of making advances to farmers for the erection of dwellings under the Rural Housing Act, 1939, such loan being called the ‘Rural Housing Loan No. 1, 1940,’ the said Inglewood County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal one thousand eight hundred and sixpence in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Inglewood County; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the appropriate day of the month (corresponding with the date upon which such loan is lifted) in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period such as may be agreed upon to equal the repayment of the sum of all amounts which are loaned to farmers by agreements entered into by the various farmers to whom the loan-moneys have been advanced, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
We hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Inglewood County Council held in the Council Chambers on the 14th day of October, 1940, and confirmed at a meeting held on the 11th day of November, 1940, and as appearing from such minutes, and that same was gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette on the 13th day of March, 1941.
