as an officer for the purposes of Part II of the Fisheries Act, 1908, in respect of the North Canterbury Acclimatization District.

George Cochrane Burghess, of Pembroke,
as an officer for the purposes of Part II of the Fisheries Act, 1908, in respect of the Otago and Lakes District Acclimatization Districts, and of
Robert Roigard, of Waitati,
as an officer for the purposes of Part II of the first-mentioned Act in respect of the Otago Acclimatization District.

has been appointed Registrar of the Court of Arbitration as from the 1st March, 1941.

Appointments, Promotions, and Transfers of Officers on Active Service with the 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force Overseas.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to confirm the following appointments, promotions, and transfers of Officers on Active Service with the 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force overseas, vide Lists (U.K.) Nos. 2 and 3:—
COMMANDS AND STAFF.
Major G. J. McNaught, is transferred temporarily from the 22nd (Wellington) Battalion to the 29th (Composite) Battalion, is appointed to command the 29th (Composite) Battalion temporarily, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel while commanding the Battalion. Dated 30th June, 1940.
Lieutenant-Colonel F. P. Heath relinquishes the appointment of Commander, Royal Engineers, N.Z. Division. Dated 11th August, 1940.
Major G. H. Clifton, M.C., relinquishes the appointment of Brigade Major, 5th N.Z. Infantry Brigade. Dated 5th September, 1940.
Major G. H. Clifton, M.C., is appointed Commander, Royal Engineers, N.Z. Division, vice Lieutenant-Colonel F. P. Heath. Dated 5th September, 1940.
