ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 12th day of March, 1941.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Valuation of Land Act, 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and direct that the District Valuation Rolls for the districts enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be revised by the Valuer-General as at the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-one.

Regulations under the Naval Defence Act, 1913, amended.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section twenty-five of the Naval Defence Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, with the advice of the Executive Council, doth hereby amend and supplement the regulations referred to in the Schedule hereto as shown therein.

APPENDIX II.—RATES OF ALLOWANCES: OFFICERS.
No. 14: Cancel and substitute (with effect from 16th October, 1940):—

To all to whom these presents shall come, and to the Honourable John Bartholomew Callan, a Judge of the Supreme Court; Thomas Frederick Anderson, Esquire; Captain Francis Arthur Macindoe; the Honourable William Perry, LL.B., M.L.C.; and Captain Eustace Rotherham, R.N.: Greeting.

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the thirtieth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and forty-one, you the said

John Bartholomew Callan,
Thomas Frederick Anderson,
Francis Arthur Macindoe,
William Perry, and
Eustace Rotherham

were appointed to be a Commission under the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1908, as extended by the Commissions of Inquiry Emergency Regulations 1941, for the purposes in the said Warrant duly set out:

And whereas by the said Warrant you were required to report to me not later than the fifteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-one:

And whereas it is expedient that the said period shall be extended as hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the said Act as extended by the said regulations and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby extend the period within which you shall report to me as by the said Warrant provided to the tenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and forty-one:

And in further pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the said Act, I do hereby confirm the said Commission except as altered by these presents.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 12th day of March, one thousand nine hundred and forty-one.

Cancelling the Appointment of the Deputy Chairman of the Main Highways Board and appointing a Deputy Chairman of the said Board.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Cyril Louis Norton Newall, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby cancel as from the date hereof the appointment of William Langston Newnham, Esquire, of Wellington, as the Deputy Chairman of the Main Highways Board, and do hereby appoint as from the date hereof Thomas Murdy Ball, Esquire, of Wellington, Assistant Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department, to be the Deputy Chairman of the said Board in terms of section seven of the Main Highways Amendment Act, 1936.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 11th day of March, 1941.

Cancelling the Appointment of the Chairman of the Main Highways Board, appointing another Member to be Chairman of the Board, and appointing a Member of the said Board.

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the sixth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 75 on the eighth day of the same month and year, John Wood, Esquire, of Wellington, then Inspecting Engineer of the Public Works Department, was appointed to be a member of the Main Highways Board in terms of subsection three, clause (a), of section five of the Main Highways Act, 1922:

And whereas by a Warrant dated the twenty-fourth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 51 of the thirtieth day of the same month and year, the said John Wood was appointed to be Chairman of the said Board :
