to complete establishment. Dated 1st August, 1940.

Infantry.
Captain W. H. Alexander, 18th (Auckland) Battalion, is
granted the temporary rank of Major while performing
the duties of Deputy Assistant Adjutant-General, 2nd
Echelon, and remains seconded. Dated 1st October,
1940.
Lieutenant D. B. Cameron, 20th (Canterbury-Otago)
Battalion, is granted the temporary rank of Captain
while performing the duties of Adjutant of the Battalion.
Dated 23rd November, 1940.
Lieutenant G. C. Weston, 26th (Canterbury-Otago) Bat-
talion, is granted the temporary rank of Captain while
performing the duties of Adjutant of the Battalion.

APPOINTMENTS.

Captain J. D. Cottrell, N.Z. Medical Corps, M.B., B.S.
(Sydney), is appointed Deputy Assistant Director of
Medical Services, 2nd N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated
13th January, 1941.
Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) F. J. Gwilliam, is
appointed to command the 27th (Machine Gun) Battalion.
Dated 29th January, 1941.
Lieutenant J. H. Beale, 20th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion
is appointed Intelligence Officer, 4th N.Z. Infantry
Brigade, and is seconded. Dated 18th December, 1940.
Captain H. S. D. Yates, 20th (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion,
relinquishes the appointment of Intelligence Officer,
4th N.Z. Infantry Brigade, and ceases to be seconded.
