in the Borough of Hawera, by providing and installing a filtration and treatment plant with all necessary fittings, and by providing and installing a six-inch water-main in Waihi Road and High Street with all necessary house connections and other requisites, and by reconditioning and lining the existing water-mains comprising the reticulation system of the borough, the said Hawera Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five hundred and ninety-five one thousandths of a penny (595/1,000d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Hawera, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of the month of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the said loan is fully paid off.”

The foregoing resolution was passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Hawera Borough Council on the 17th day of February, 1941.

COLLINGWOOD COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Collingwood County Council resolves as follows:—
“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Collingwood County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of making advances to farmers for the erection of dwellings under the Rural Housing Act, 1939, the said Collingwood County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twentieth of one penny (¹⁄₂₀d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Collingwood County comprising the whole of the County of Collingwood; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Proposed by Councillor Fish, Chairman; seconded by Councillor Wigzell.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Piako County Council proposes to take, under the Public Works Act, 1928, for the construction of a road, all those pieces of land in the Land District of Auckland, in Block IV, of the Waiotoa Survey District—(1) containing 1 rood 20·8 perches, part Te Awaiiti 1H 2B 1,

coloured blue on the Survey Office plan 31178; (2) containing 3 acres and 23·7 perches, part Te Awaiiti 1H 2B 2B, coloured sepia on the said plan; and (3) containing 1 acre and 21·8 perches, part Te Awaiiti 1H 2A 3, coloured yellow on the said plan, a copy of which plan is now deposited in the County Office at Te Aroha, where it can be inspected by all persons at all reasonable hours. All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Piako County Council at the County Office aforesaid.

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act, 1933, that a general meeting of the above-named company will be held at the company’s office, Room 308, D.I.C. Buildings, Wellington, on Thursday, the 6th day of March, 1941, at 10.30 a.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before the meeting showing the manner in which the winding up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the liquidator, and also of determining by resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.
